Canopy by Hilton Portland Waterfront

Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. The staff was wonderful.

Dirty glass in the room and rubbish left in corridor, including chewing gum on the tiles, for 48 hours. Staff friendly.

Beautiful hotel, well maintained and hopping roof top bar! Great location close to everything.

Central location, nice staff, clean

I like the location - it was close to many good downtown resturants I decided to pick the place because of the roof deck looked so nice in pictures, but it wasn't at all what I thought. This place is so expensive and feels in the same style and comfort as Aloft. I think next time I will just pick to go there and it will be much cheaper.

I love the design of the hotel and the cool wood slats in the bathrooms.

Everyone was great but the price was not commensurate with the value and the "waterfront view" was, at best, marginal.

The only minor grievance is that we went to put a drink in our mini fridge and there was a half eaten tuna sandwich that hadn’t been cleaned out from prior guest. We told the front desk thinking they would maybe give us our valet or something for free and they just kind of giggled and made a note. The actual stay was perfect so I won’t knock them for that.

We arrived in Portland after a delightful river/coastal cruise. Cruise ships debark early to prepare for next cruise, so we were at the hotel at 9am-ish. Long before check-in time. But Renee had a room ready for us, much to our delight. It was a clean, well appointed room and kept clean by able staff. The robes were very thick and heavy. Many choices for various lighting options. Excellent shower with very accommodating heads to choose your use. We asked for a second chair for sitting in the room and one was delivered promptly. We went up to see the rooftop bar and found they offer small plates rather than a full dinner option, so we went elsewhere to find our choice. Did have one breakfast in the cafe (photo of wall sculpture) on ground level and it was delicious and easy to order. Enjoyed our Portland stay here, and will likely book again next time we are in Portland for another cruise. Renee became our point person while here. She happily and professionally helped us each time we asked. Our door had a malfunction keeping it ajar unless it was pushed/pulled completely closed manually. We discovered that after returning to room after dinner one evening. No one had entered our room in our absence, and staff had the order to repair or replace as soon as we were checked out, immediately after we alerted them to the situation.

The location was great. It was in walking distance of most restaurants and shops, but my room had a bit of a musty odor.

No pool or hot tube after long days exploring or shopping or whatever you’re doing other than that it was terrific

The hotel had a great restaurant on the main level - was perfect for breakfast and lunch. The valet was super useful as well.

We had a lovely stay at the Canopy. We used to stay at a nearby hotel when we would visit Portland and decided to give this a try. Glad we did, we actually liked it better and will stay here again. It was clean and very comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful and we loved taking the bicycles out for a ride. We didn't go to their restaurant or bar cause we like to hit our favorites in town, but they looked very nice. If we had a longer stay we would have tried them. We like the location too, not in the center of town so it was a little quieter. Thank you for a great stay!

First time staying in Maine and we chose the perfect hotel. Canopy was clean and pretty. The food at the restaurants in there were so good.

I couldn't have been happier with our stay. Right away, the staff was so friendly in greeting us, I put a little note on the reservation that it was our anniversary and they did a bunch of things to make it special, free pastries in the room with a note. Breakfast at Salt Yard is incredible, not sure if it's as high on lists as it should be but if you stay you need to try it.
