Cambria Hotel Portland - Pearl District

This hotel is in a great location while not being very expensive. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was tasty!

We were the last room in the hall. I could hear conversations in other rooms as I walked down the hall the next morning. There is simply no way that the security guard could not have stood outside our door for a few minutes and come to the conclusion we weren’t making noise. Also, as I lay awake from 1:30-3:30am, unable to get back to sleep, I heard nothing. The room was one of the nicest designs I’m ever stayed in. Not luxurious by any standards, but the attention to details and the clean design were the best I’ve ever seen. The only negative to the room itself was that lot of noise was transmitted through the ceiling from the occupants above (maybe their elephant feet caused the noise complaint?). The front desk staff was nice. But, I won’t be staying here again. The manager was professional and apologized for our sleep, but he refused to say they had done something wrong in knocking on our door and waking us up. Which means, they might do it again.

We checked in after 11pm following a long international trip. The desk surfaces in the room were not very clean. The room was not very roomy but was functional and the bathroom was new and clean. The next morning we had breakfast at the hotel, which was not included. We waited 10 or more minutes to order as there was only one person working (he apologized immediately). Once we ordered, the food came quickly and was good. However we did not have silverware/napkin when our food came so had to wait for that to eat.

Only concern is size of room - perfect for one person or a couple but I got a double room in case my daughter stayed - it would have been a bit of a traffic jam between beds and desk with 2+ people.

Checking in was slow as it appears the reception is understaffed and dealing with people coming in, checking out and phone calls.

The room was very clean and beautifully decorated. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The location was very convenient for walking around downtown. We had breakfast in the Recess restaurant, which was superb. We will be back!
