How clean the hostel amazed me, I have never stayed in hostel that clean and staff was so helpful and nice as well. They solved everything for me smoothly!

I loved the location, decor, common area, and that it was accessible for those with mobility difficulties. I also appreciated the way the hostel was incorporated into the historic building structure with beautiful exposed stone in the dorm bathroom! The stairways were a beast with luggage but at least they were decorated beautifully. I also didn’t like being assigned a top bunk because it didn’t feel steady to climb up, but that was just the luck of the draw—no actual problem with the bed.

Has all the details you can expect from a hostel

Storage was quite poor; no space under the beds for suitcases but the lockers were also very small and made of particle board. Electrical outlets set near each bed were actually extension cords plugged into extension cords.

Great location, great view, comfortable bed, full kitchen and beautiful building. Quiet enough but not far from the bustle. Shower drain needs draino, is clogged, no hangers for bathroom towels, no broom for floor, no sharp knives for kitchen.

Room cleaned everyday. Location good, walking distance to main attractions.

For the price it was perfect

Our host, Paolo, is a 6 time Camino pilgrim with a passion for hospitality! He and his staff of volunteers were such a joy to work with, I loved my stay at Happy Porto. The space is welcoming and intimate and there was a strong sense of community and friendship. The beds were comfortable, the showers were clean and there were plenty of games and musical instruments in the shared dining area to entertain me for days. I quickly found myself among fellow nomads and travelers who opened their hearts and made me feel like family. Thanks everyone!

Loved the view from the female only dorm. Great natural light & fresh air. Also loved the loft! 2 showers & 2 toilets in the room all in separate stalls. Great hostel down by the river. Easy to find and good breaky to start your day.

It was in a very good place and very easy to find The beds aren’t private at all, but it’s no problem for someone with easy socialization

It was fine and the staff were nice but some facilities were a bit lacking. My “bunk” was a mattress on the floor on a loft of the top floor where the AC didn’t reach, it was very hot. We had to keep the windows open at night and this was very noisy. The shower stalls were also very tiny, could barely turn around. But good water pressure and a straightener and hair dryer provided! Also keep in mind that being near the river, to get anywhere you are going straight uphill/up stairs for the first 500m or so!

Good location, staff and room. Clean for a hostel

I stayed there for a short while (2 nights; 8-bed female bedroom) and the overall experience was amazing (with an extra shoutout to the staff, breakfast, location, spacey and well equipped kitchen, and cleanliness; they all exceeded expectations). In general, the room is a bit packed and earplugs are helpful so as to not hear the sounds from the stairs - but this is not really a complaint; I honestly believe this is to be expected from staying at hostels [sharing just as a reminder to other travellers so that they have the best experience :)]..

It was really clean, good breakfast and great people You should consider better outlets and curtains for at least the bottom beds
