Hostel Alegria

The location is excellent and provides easy access to the train station. Everything was very clean, and the shared/common areas were cleaned daily, which was greatly appreciated. I would definitely stay here again. The only thing I would do differently is choose a room facing the garden rather than the street, as it would likely be much quieter. The room we stayed in had a window facing the street, and it was quite noisy throughout the night. If you’re a light sleeper, like I am, it may be difficult to get a good night’s sleep.

Rui was a great host. He was very helpful, replied quickly to messages and gave clear instructions for leaving my luggage before check-in and picking it up after check-out. They have lockers available, which was very convenient. The private room was spacious and comfortable. There was always hot water available. Good communication and overall organization made the stay easy. The accommodation is not directly in the city center, so you need around 15-20 minutes by foot or metro to reach the main areas. The walk back can be a bit tiring because it is uphill. The toilet is located on the balcony so it was quite cold in it (but I didn't even expect to have the private one so for me it was a nice suprise).

Easy entry to arrive late. Hot showers. Close to a laundromat& supermarket. Wardrobe to hang clothes Street loud at night with cars & voices. Lots of stairs with a large case. Shared shower/bathroom not great layout.. could have more private area for dressing.

We stayed here 3 times… so obviously we liked it. Simple rooms in white feel airy and light. Nice heritage building with beautiful wood floors and stairs. Lovely garden to relax and eat in. Useful common room to do a bit of work in. Great location, away from the craziness of the busiest central attractions, though still within walking distance of that area. And also with its own neighborhood scene with a central park, restaurants, convenience stores, laundry mat, etc. And the hosts are really helpful.

Nice garden in back. Pleasant heritage building with whitewashed rooms and nice high ceilings, feels so airy. Really a pleasant place to stay. It’s about 20 minute walk from the start of the “busy” pedestrianized streets, so we liked that it was in a bit of a quieter area. Very near a cute square with metro stop. And finally, the brothers who are running this place are so sweet and helpful. Have stayed here twice and going back one more time.

The bathrooms/showers were really good and it has a well equipped kitchen. The room smelled of cigarettes

Beautiful garden. Well equipped clean kitchen. Nothing.

The location is very good and I was able to easily take two tours from there. The front desk staff are very helpful and friendly. The beer is nicely priced and there is a terrace to sit on and enjoy it. There is some maintenance needed in the showers.

It was really perfect hostel in Porto. Near to the center, we didnt need to use public transport. We walked about 20-25 min. to the center. We also got to the airport without any problems. There was a metro station near us. Hostel was super clean, even though the bathroom was shared, it was perfectly clean. The room for two was nice, clean, well equipped. Breakfast was simpler, but it was enough for us. Isi at the accommodation was super nice guy.
