The staff were very friendly and courteous. The hostel was well stocked. The showers were in okay condition. The area was next door to a brothel and the clientele of the hostel were mainly older men that smoked and drank all day. The rooms smelled awful, it could’ve been the people but it smelled very pungent. Bathrooms reeked of urine. More or less clean. Just awful smell.

It was pretty and comfortable They don’t have AC

The common spaces were ok. I did the mistake of not trusting older reviews saying that the place had bed bugs, since recent ones said they didn't, but I am now covered in bites and could feel them happening while being in bed but have never checked for bed bugs before in my life. When arriving home I had to take extra care with everything I brought back with me. It was also relatively distant from the city center and there was a brothel right next to it, but those aspects were far less bothersome.

However, the bedrooms didn't have locks on the door so anyone could come in the girls room, there wasn't hot water and the location itself was a little sketchy. I was expecting a little better but for the price I can't complain too much.

Location was good, close to Old Town Porto Bunk beds in photos did not match bunk beds that were actually there. Bathrooms in photos were not the bathrooms you would use if you book the dorms. Bathrooms were disgusting, broken shower heads, completely covered in black mould, floors never cleaned, decorations in bathrooms also covered in mould. The only toilet on the main floor had no toilet seat. The kitchen was gross, found roaches in the cutlery drawer, fridge was never cleaned so everything was covered in mystery liquids. The stovetop was broken, I had to go out and buy a lighter to use it (manager refused to supply). Manager would come into dorm 4x an hour to fiddle with window (if I closed it to stop cigarette smoke coming in he would open it) or just to look out the window. Floors never cleaned, constantly spraying fabric softener to cover up damp mould smell.

Very hospitable, clean, good energy environment. The staff is amazing and extremely courteous. Mr Nuno the manager takes care of everything and everyone. The location is also amazing with the metro right outside the doorstep. Overall, a very nice and good energy place to stay. I highly recommend it

Our room wasn't very nicely ventilated, maybe keep the door open during the day?

I was quite surprised at the size of the hostel, being as large as it is. The staff was so pleasant and welcoming, I would definitely recommend staying here. The back garden is perfect for the spring and summer. The kitchen is large with lots of seating for everyone. The rooms have heat, and some have private shared bathrooms. This was such a treat. nothing

The location felt safe and calm. The uphill is a great workout since in Porto everything is Uphill. Very affordable place to stay. They have an outside garden, tv area and open kitchen. Amazing washrooms equipped. The place feels like home. The walk uphill as it is kinda far from the centre but also it is great as it is great value for money. I chose walking instead of cabs but still it was splendid.

The room was comfortable, had a heater, and windows shut out light entirely. The blankets and pillows were also warm and the room itself was enough space. The bathrooms were always kept clean despite being shared. It was just a fine stay. Even though check in was at 3, we wanted to drop our bags since we came early (around 9) and no one was at the reception till 10 which was really frustrating since we were also stranded outside for a bit until some random guest let us in. Also warning, we had stairs leading up to our room which we just wish we knew about in advance. It also had a low ceiling which was fine for us because we are short but tall travelers beware. There also wasn't enough light in certain areas. Also there was no instructions on how to check out so we just left the key on the desk and left since we had a train to catch early in the morning.

Polite and friendly staff. Cleanliness in the kitchen and bathroom.

  • Engine customer Jan 2026

    There are limited bathrooms.

  • Engine customer Jan 2026

It is two block away from metro, it is convenient. Bathroom was cleaned in the mornings. The mixed dorm was awful. There were 14 beds and only one bathroom. There was bad smell in the dorms, poor hygiene. Towel and duvet were worn out. There was no place for keeping your belongings. Shower was separated from WC and the WC was below the stairs, not for tall people.

The host is one of the nicest person we met in Porto. I definitely recommend staying there!

The hostel is not in the centre, but there are several bus lines and a metro station nearby. The kitchen is reasonably equiped with utensils for cooking own food. Supermarkets nearby. The bathrooms are very clean. Beds are very uncomfortable, and as it can be seen from the pictures, the matress is placed directly over the supporting grid. The pillows provided are not proper sleeping pillows, they better look at some random pillows taken from the living room of your grandmother. The rooms and the common spaces are VERY humid so if you wash your clothes or underwear, there is no way they will dry. Also, this humidity gives you the feeling of being in an unhealthy environment. Dehumidifiers are urgently needed in the whole establishment. Rooms don't have lockers, albeit lockers are available in the ground floor (bring your own padlock!) The doors of the rooms are without controlled access, so other guests from other rooms could enter in yours. I believe the fire safety of this place should be examined in big detail, because they use power extensors plugged to other power extensors. Internet in the room was weak and got interrupted frequently.

Great place to stay for a stopover in Porto for access to the airport via metro or uber. Friendly staff, the room was comfortable. Nothing, all was ok for me.
