Everything was perfect.

It was very hot in the room, making it hard to sleep. We informed the reception, but nobody ever came to help. The staff wasn't very friendly or welcoming, though they did their jobs. Also, there was no kettle in the room, so we couldn't even make a cup of tea.

Unfortunately the fitnessroom wasn't open since it's getting renovated.

Food is good. Extremely disappointing stay – felt deceived and overcharged We are completely disappointed with our stay at Riviera Terme & Spa, Portorož. We truly feel deceived for the money we paid. This experience was unacceptable from start to finish. Upon arrival, there was a huge crowd at check-in. While this may not be our fault, the hotel’s complete lack of organization and staff became our problem immediately. Because there was no staff available, I had to carry all the suitcases to the room by myself, while my husband had to take the car to the garage because there was no one to park it. To make matters worse, the bellboy was extremely rude to my husband, aggressively telling him to move the car and asking “why are you here with your car?” — even though he was standing directly in front of the hotel only to unload our luggage. Where else was he supposed to go? We chose this hotel mainly for the spa and swimming pools, yet nothing was prepared or explained properly. When we arrived in the room, there were no bathrobes. I called reception and was told we had to wait for room service — and on top of that, each bathrobe costs 6 euros, including for children. This was shocking. Staff were going room to room collecting bathrobes instead of organizing this properly at reception. Extremely disorganized. Then we went to the swimming pools, only to discover there were NO POOL TOWELS available. We had to walk all the way back to the room to take our own towels. After using them, we had no clean towels left to shower, so I had to go back to reception again to ask for new ones. Access to the thermal pools is another nightmare — it takes around 10 minutes of walking, going up and down stairs, through dark, poorly maintained, unpleasant-smelling hallways. None of this was mentioned when booking the hotel. Additionally, the hotel advertises that it has a gym, and there are photos of it on Booking.com. However, the gym is not actually in the hotel building.

The room was comfortable and clean, the food was absolutely delicious, and the pool was great. The valet guy was very friendly and polite, all compliments to him I was disappointed that hotel guests don’t have access to a bathrobe or towel for the spa area. Since I didn’t bring one from the room (expecting there would be some available at the pool), I had to go back to my room without one, which was uncomfortable. When I asked at the reception, the staff member I spoke to was quite rude, which was unpleasant. Apart from that, everyone else was very kind and helpful.

Location & Breakfast Receptionst at check in (2 pm) was rude and racist and she was also on duty again when we collect our luggages on check out day. Was rude too. ? Room was not vacuum and bathroom was not clean properly.

I do not understand why the hotel charges guests for the use of beach towels and sunbeds. You advertise the hotel as one that has a private beach. It is misleading. We arrive at the beach in front of the hotel at 16:45. It closes at 18:00. A young attendant said, " I will charge you EU 15 for the sunbeds. I cannot do better." She acted like she was doing us a big favour!

In a good location. The staff does not respect privacy. I put a do not disturb sign on my door and they walked in without knocking, three days in a row! Once I was naked in the bathroom and a male came in. The front desk said they don’t have male housekeeping staff. The next day, they came when I went out for a few minutes. They didn’t clean the room, just moved my personal stuff around and left me a clean towel, even though the sign in the bathroom says that if I hang up the towel, it saves water. The last time, someone walked in as I was getting ready to leave.

The outdoor part of the pool is tiny and shallow, and on Tuesday it was closed for half the day. The indoor pool is suffocating, with no proper ventilation. The beach club was closed during our stay, but they told us we could still use the beach area. In reality, all the sunbeds were dirty, there was no way to get a working umbrella. On top of that, they charge extra for absolutely everything: €6 for a towel, €5 for robes, a check-in fee, even a charge if you want to keep your own drinks in the minibar. Overall, this place is nowhere near worth the money. Would not recommend.

The hotel rooms are newly furnished, the beds are comfortable. I appreciate the daily cleaning of the room including the change of towels. The hotel is located by the sea, with a nice view from the dining room. The parking lot behind the hotel is really only for a few cars. The water in both pools (Therme and Sea bad) is salty and cold (less than 30 degrees), in summer it can be refreshing, but not in spring. Saunas have to be paid extra. They are more expensive on weekends. Half board disappointed us. One type of meat for dinner (often only pork), one fish, one side dish. Everything was good, but the selection was poor.

I liked the location, the spa was nice. Food was okay, room nice and renovated. Customer service needs improvement. Not all staff could speak English or German, and it was sometimes to difficult to communicate. Takes ages to drinks at the restaurant, although they did decrease the price which is nice of them. Sea spa needs renovation in some areas such as the ceiling in the smaller pool.
