Hotel Hidalgo
About Hotel Hidalgo
Offering rooms with balconies and free Wi-Fi, Hotel Hidalgo is housed in a charming 19th-century mansion in Santiago de Querétaro’s old town. Set around an interior courtyard, it features an à la carte restaurant. Hotel Hidalgo’s rooms have simple décor. All rooms have a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a fan. As it is a historical monument protected by the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH), elevators are not allowed in the hotel since they would modify its original structure. Some rooms may or may not have a window. Traditional Mexican cuisine is served in the La Llave Restaurant. Guests can enjoy a drink in the bar or in the attractive courtyard. The Hidalgo is located in the center of Santiago de Querétaro, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Plaza de Armas Square is a 10-minute walk away, while the town’s famous aqueduct is just 1.2 mi from the hotel.

It was welcoming, the staff were nice and friendly. Walking distance the central square, parks, and museums.

It was very quiet & had a restaurant down below with room service! Rooms didn’t get cleaned when we put the sign on the door and we would be gone all day.

Nothing at all Staircase, Dark, al nighttime small rooms. Very Old place. Staff. Not helpful. I told him I have a Disability and cannot go up the stairs in the Dark. His response, we can change lightbulbs right now. Pictures on the website are totally deceiving. Do not stay at the hotel.

Beautiful location directly in the city center, with easy walks to nearby sites and attractions. The staff was friendly and excellent.

The central location was great for our group. We were 18 traveling. As mostly English speakers the staff was outstanding with making reservations, suggestions for restaurants, and getting transport to the airport. Nothing. We were all happy and well taken care of.

Gorgeous hotel in convenient location. The restaurant was amazing.

Enjoyable. Quiet. 10-15 min walk to Centro. Friendly staff.

It was very loud all day and well into the night. Street noise and courtyard restaurant noise converged in my room.
-
It was very close to Centro Historico. Lots of restaurants to choose from any inconvenience store away on the corner. It was perfect for what we needed during this day. I really don’t have any complaints about the property. It really was all we needed. I will say that I thought the baseboards could use some cleaning. They’re very dusty. But that’s it.

Loved the location! Near all Centro attractions! Strong smell from the restaurant?

It was in a good location and the architecture was beautiful and very colonial mexico. The door and locks were not the most secure. A little bit extra lock security would have given me piece of mind.
-
Room was on the cool side because of weather. Could have used a little heat .
-
The location and the restaurant The room was facing the restaurant and was a bit noisy

Location, staff, historic building Unfortunately, the first two nights of our four night stay was during the Festival of the Three Kings. There was a huge light show tunnel installation right outside the hotel (our balcony opened to it, which was spectacular. However, from 6 PM until 10 PM each of those two nights there played blaringly loud Christmas carols (the same 3 ones each time) every 30 minutes. This was very distracting but fortunately stopped by our bedtime. Also, starting around 4 AM each morning the church bells from multiple nearby churches started ringing regularly. We loved our stay there, but want other guests to know about the regular bell noise before coming.

This is a beautiful 200 year old hotel in an ideal area in the old city centre. Renovated rooms. Comfortable beds. Helpful staff.

The location and the kind and friendly staff... A bit of street noise...but what a location!!

My room was a bit noisy; noise from the restaurant up until 10 PM, and from the street for a while after that. The availability of breakfast on Christmas morning would have been helpful.
