The hotel lobby looks very nice, but the rooms are dark, the pool was freezing, and the staff was meh. For example, we needed to do laundry, which took quarters. Had to scrounge them from a couple of local shops. Very sketchy. Couldn’t get a glass of wine at the hotel. I would strongly recommend not staying in downtown Rochester as a general matter. Plenty of nicer options in the University area for the same cost.

We actually had a fun stay, and the location was great for the festivals, restaurants, and bars nearby. There was plenty to do and explore. A few things could definitely be improved. The hotel pool was very poorly maintained, with dirty spots and even gum on the bottom, no noticeable chlorine, and no towels available. The Drifter's Bar & Grill was a nice spot, but the food menu was very limited and they closed early for a private event, leaving guests to find somewhere else to go. There was also confusion over checkout, with our reservation and room notice both saying noon while a handwritten sign downstairs said 11. But clearly written on the our reservation of Noon and inside our room stating Noon as well. Staff could have handled the situation much more professionally. Lastly, be aware of the surrounding area at night. We had a great time, but there are many people asking for money and food, a lot of litter, and some uncomfortable activity. They will follow you even if you ignore them they will be relentless about it.I definitely would not recommend walking around alone after dark. its all day long but gets extremely worse at night. Overall, we enjoyed the trip and the location, but there are definitely some things future guests should be aware of.

The bed was very squeaky and uncomfortable. The pillows were small and lumpy. I can overlook most things as long as I get a good nights sleep, unfortunately this room didn’t provide that. In the room there was a belt, someone’s dry cleaning receipt with their info on it and you could see where someone taped balloons up on the wall. It wasn’t cleaned well.

Finally, I accidentally left a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses in my room. I clearly remember placing them on the stand in front of the television while gathering my belongings before checking out. I contacted the hotel shortly after realizing they were missing, only to be told that housekeeping did not find them. Given exactly where I left them, I find that response concerning. It raises questions as to whether the room was thoroughly inspected and cleaned or whether my property was overlooked or mishandled. Either possibility is troubling. As someone who travels frequently and stays in hotels multiple times each month, I rarely feel compelled to submit a formal complaint. However, the combination of misleading information regarding fees, the inability to use an advertised amenity, and the lack of resolution regarding my missing personal property has left me extremely disappointed with this location.

Everything was great. Very clean (no bed bugs either).. The beds were sooo comfortable.. the restaurant in the Hotel, called Drifters was great also..It was all well worth it..Will definitely stay there again.

Hallway carpets dirty. Desk table in room wobbly , severely. Sofa bed dirty, no sheets , and cushions didn’t fit right ….we had already changed rooms. This was the new room. Parking a disaster, garage not connected internally. Fifty percent of staff excellent , first percent either ride or disinterested in customer service. NEVER staying there again. Literally a shoot out on the streets on 4th of July.

Location is great and very comfortable place to stay. Needs a little TLC, but not much.

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

Room was bad. Light bulbs were burnt out in bathroom. Shower door about to fall off no coffee sweeteners or stir sticks. When room was cleaned still no restock of coffee or supplies. Very disappointing.

Booked all inclusive but still had to pay for breakfast. The shower drain was clogged. 5 people to a room - called for extra pillows and towels, got one pillow and bed sheets

It doesn't matter what hotel I stay at, it does not compare to my own home. The stay was nice as I stated in my review.
