Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Rock Hill/Charlotte Area

I was looking for a budget motel and got one. For $80 a night we got two queen beds, a walk-in shower with seat and a large, clean room with the usual amenities. The fridge wasn’t working and my side of the bed was a bit over-used, but not horrible. Just a continental breakfast, but the staff was helpful. People out front smoking gave a bad first impression but, overall, the place was worth the price. No pool, but a little fitness area.

The guy working night shift was one of the rudest workers i’ve ever met in my entire life.

I have to say that the employees were great.. The hotel and rooms are dated, but that's more a corporate issue.. Overall we had a great stay, we were there for 5 days for Basketball Tournament. And the staff was excellent

No hot water. No breakfast.

This property should not be advertised!!!!!!! This room was advertised to have a working kitchenette. Upon check-in, the air conditioning unit, the bathroom light and the microwave did not work. I immediately reported this situation, and the staff took note until the morning. Management staff acted completely oblivious and unaccommodating. Situation escalated to police involvement when a new room was requested - and when asking for a refund Expedia nor Microtel is willing to refund the unused days (actually charging for days not used-and re-renting the room out- making double). Rockhill SC police confirmed this area is drug infested and should have never been advertised on a website as Family Friendly or even at all. I recommend No One use this chain of hotels (Microtel).

The entire closet door was missing off the hinges and there was no iron. The chairs were filthy. The lock was missing off of the bathroom door as well as the deadbolt on the front door. My daughter went to speak with the manager and were told that she was not in yet. When she spoke with the young man, he seemed to be annoyed and took deep breaths as she was talking. We were granted a new room by the manager, who was very kind. The room smelled like cigarettes had been smoked in there for a couple of weeks. The floor was filthy. My grandchildren's socks were filthy within minutes. The front of the AC unit fell off a couple of times. If we had the funds to leave and book somewhere else, we would have. However, it would have taken days to refund.

The building has been well used. Nothing special. The sheets and bathroom were clean and the carpet vacuumed. It gave me an okay place to sleep for two nights. I would only stay there in a crunch. The couch in the room had tears and a cigarette burn hole. I used a towel to sit on over the couch.

Staff was nice and the room was very dated but fairly clean. There are seriously delinquents and drug users out front and all around and inside too. Creepy guys who follow you without shirts on, smokers in lawn chairs just out the front door, etc.

People loitering in camp chairs outside the property, elevator filthy, walls filthy, smelled like weed, prostitution taking place, razor in toilet, rusty bathroom fixtures and no lighting in bathroom. One of the worst hotels I’ve ever been to. Needless to say, we left and did not stay. I do not recommend this place at all!!!

That the young gentleman serving the breakfast was late serving it as he was sleeping on the couch at 6:10 when I walked out for work And it was suppose to be out at 6:00 a.m.

The space of the area was nice and bathroom/linen was clean The entire building needs to be updated and remodeled.... Management must hold the area and visitor accountable for friendly usage of property. Too many broken fixtures, lamps, chipped doors, rusty access points, dingy wall paint, pot holes in parking lot... broken breakfast equipment.... refrigerators...air units in hallways complaint

not a thing--I stayed at a Microtel before and although it is a no frills place it was clean, neat and updated. This place is horrible First- I asked for a room close to doors/elevator as my husband uses a walker/cane. We were put the last room down the\ hall. Then--the room stunk like pee. Bad enough--when my husband took off his shoes- the carpet was very wet. Also, in the bathroom the plaster? was coming off the walls and you could see the wood behind some of it and there was a chunk of wall taken out in the bedroom area, They did move us to a different room that didn't stink- but the box spring had a hole in it and the sink plunger didn't work- so water had a hard time/trickling through to drain. First room was 103 and second (close to door/main desk) was 121. This hotel is a disaster.

Excellent location for our trip South, east highway access, close to restaurants! Needed updating which was in progress…The Bath tap in the bathroom was dripping hot water, which must be costing some money. A washer replacement would probably have sorted the drip!

There were some stains on the wall but nothing horrible. Especially for the price of the room. Took me a minute to figure out the TV.

Idk if it’s just me but it seemed like someone kept trying to get in that 3rd night but other than that it was good
