This was our first stay in a traditional bed and breakfast and it was fantastic. The room was super cozy with a very comfortable bed and an amazing luxurious shower. The evening snacks and breakfast amenities were outstanding as well. We highly recommend the Talbot House and will be returning in the future.

This is a beautiful 150-year-old Victorian Inn that was fully renovated 12 years ago. It does not have the Victorian shabby chic decor that many like -- no flowered wallpaper or old antiques -- but for us the more relaxed vibe, painted walls and large modern bath were perfect. The young couple who purchased the building less than a year ago work very hard to make you feel at home. They even let us check in a little bit early because we don't drive and were limited by bus schedules. The porch has a wonderful seating area and the numerous rooms available to the public were great for coffee or tea, or just good conversation with other guests. Some people may not like that they did not serve breakfast, but plenty of breakfast food -- yogurt, cereals, oatmeal cups, bagels, croissants, fresh fruit and of course tea and/or coffee -- were available for you to prepare yourself. They also had a late afternoon snack and ice cream. If you had a problem, the hosts would step in to help. Once we figured out the breakfast routine, it was pretty easy. Our only complaint was the cereals and oatmeal were all sweetened. We would have preferred some healthier options (cheerios, unsweetened oatmeal, etc.). Did I mention how large our room was? There was lots of storage. We didn't need it, but there was plenty of parking. I should note that they do have a smallish dog (for those who don't like dogs or are allergic); but all in all, it was a great experience!

The hosts had thought of everything. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with ample outlets and full temperature control. The location of the house was perfect and we were able to get to everything that we wanted to see. Very conveniently close to the ferry. We will definitely come back.

Great. Rockland is maybe halfway developed as a tourist destination.

A beautiful place to stay with an historic home featured in several classic paintings… all the showering and bedroom was first class beautiful and very comfortable… a nice selection of amenities for breakfast and a nice surprise in the evening, which could be anything from a apple pie with ice cream to cheese and meats…. Highly recommend recommended.

Beautiful inn in a safe quiet neighborhood. Walking distance to downtown Rockland. Spacious clean room, tasteful decor, friendly owners. Especially enjoyed the coffee machine and breakfast options in the morning. Perfect spot for a fun Maine weekend!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Rockland Talbot House. The room was clean, spacious and the bed was very, very comfortable. The property is a beautiful, well kept house from the 1800's with lots of character and original pieces. The Inn has a wonderful coffee machine with hot lattes, cereal, oatmeal, muffins and other pastries for breakfast as well as fresh fruit, juices and yogurt. The Rockland Talbot House is only a few blocks away from downtown Rockland and for those of you who love antique shopping, there is a fantastic antique store in town: Antiques Etcetera. It is also just a short drive to Camden, Maine which is a lovely town on the water (the Harbor Dogs is a must try). We highly recommend the Rockland Talbot House!

Very Quiet and two blocks from the downtown Rockland. Dog park for your pet in nearby Camden, 146 Camden St. See a description of what I experienced on a web place for that purpose.

The breakfast was fine! I loved the late afternoon snack, the mixed berry pie. The hot water in the bath took a long time to rise to temperature when I took a shower.

    Cozy and comfortable

Lovely home that is well kept and clean. Very convenient location. Good communications about check in and checkout procedures. The breakfast part of this “B & B” is minimal. It’s not worth it: all self serve, coffee pods, overly sugary prepackaged cereals and grocery store muffins. There were apples and mandarins as well.

The inn was beautiful, well kept, and Pearl is going to be a great mascot.

The breakfast was lackluster for a B&B
