I like how clean the bathroom looked and how clean the the room looked and smelled

The basic things at this hotel were fine if you want running water and a clean bed that’s fine but the amenities here were far below my expectations for a Holiday Inn express and for a hotel in general. The breakfast area was strangely set up in poorly maintained the pool a week before Fourth of July was closed in general. The hotel just felt worn and kind of cobbled together it did not feel like a professional operation , and strangely none of the staff or uniforms or name tags. We were checked in by a man in a T-shirt. This hotel was strange to say the least I don’t think I’ll return, especially considering the other options in the area.

Fridge froze everything Bathroom had no vent They can improve on breakfast area presentation.

Great hotel in the burbs close to Woodfield and many other things. Beds and pillows are super comfortable and rooms are clean. Breakfast was good and easy check in. Will stay again:)

The bed was extremely uncomfortable, I woke up with a sore back It does have a very nice shower, one of the nicest in a mid price hotel that we’ve ever used.
-
The room was dirty, splatter on the walls, missing plaster, paint peeling from the bathroom ceiling. Stains on the carpet. The pump for the body wash didn’t work. The fan in the bathroom ran off and on, on its own, and it was coated in dust.

Bathroom so bed & drain not working no give me good answer

I have often stayed at Holiday Inn Express over the years and usually enjoyed the stay. This time I found it lacking. The pool was closed, despite showing a pool on the booking sight. The room was very run down and in need of repair. Room service always shorted us a towel each day requiring a trip to the desk for another. On one day after returning from being gone all day, we found the door to our room standing ajar. Obviously, not closed by room service. The entire hotel smelled of Marijuana smoke and there was often trash left sitting in the hallway outside of room doors. This hotel appeared to be operated by a family who took turns working the desk and carrying out other hotel duties in a sub-par manner.i found the experience overall very disappointing for this hotel chain.

Absolutely worse customer service experience of my adult life. These guys scam . They are on hotels.com advertising a pool and their pool will not be open all summer so every day they are tricking people to get a room thats bed bug infested , yes I left soon as I saw them., and they offer no refund policy. So basically tricking families all summer to rent for outdoor pool advertised and then steal the money. We’ll I after 4 hrs of talking to hotel.com got full refund and reported these garbage mfkrs so they have to change their ad for a pool.i was there 15 minutes trying to get my refund thank god for hotels.com doing the right thing. Avoid this place like the plague!!!! THEY WILL HAVE NO POOL ALL YEAR yet they are advertising pool and non refundable. To steal.

Staff was pretty much great except for the breakfast man . Room not so clean ! Was very unsafe after 2nd day random people start knocking on door around midnight

The front desk clerk and staff were excellent. With that being said, the property and rooms we stayed in were gross and dirty. The hotel is next to a derelict and abandoned hotel. The hallways were dirty, the carpet was dirty in the halls and in our rooms. I was actually surprised at how bad this property looked considering it’s a Holiday Inn. Do not stay in this place, you can get a much nicer room elsewhere.

Staff was good. Pool was closed, generally rundown and outdated. Noisy sleeping conditions.
-
Area was horrible, condemned building with rodents next door inside was very ran down and smelled. Room was dirty as well will not stay here again.

The pool was not operable. Looks like it hasn’t been operable in a while. Wouldn’t be a huge deal if we didn’t book our hotel solely based on an outdoor pool. The staff were friendly, breakfast was decent. Rooms weren’t terrible and having a balcony was nice. It would have just been nice if they had it on the website that there was no pool and we could have picked somewhere else. Feels weird to pay full price expecting what is listed and then finding out it doesn’t even run.

2) My stay continued upto June 7th. I requested a late check out and was offered upto 5:30 pm by Kittu who was at the desk for $65+tax. I checked out at 5:20 and was told by Nikki the person at the desk that I had only until 3 pm and will be charged full price. She talked to Juaan (supervisor) a very rude and adamant person. They checked me out but did not give my bill and said they will do that the next day and send the invoice. Next day without my consent another $120 was charged to my credit card. 3) Room was never cleaned for the 4 nights I stayed. 4) Breakfast suppose to be upto to 9:30 but everything was rapped up at 9:20 The only person who seems to know anything is the lady who was at the desk week days in the morning. 5)Pool was closed and poorly maintained. Anyway, I normally don’t write reviews but had to do it here just for people to know. I always stay at holiday inn express anyplace I go but this was my worst experience. I don’t think this is run by the corporate.

The Holiday Inn Express Rolling Meadows - Schaumburg Area was fine but it is an older property. they have upgraded (not sure when) but some of the amenities on the website are not as advertised. The pool says it is open (as of May) but it was completely closed with the cover still on it. The pet policy was confusing because it says it has a no pet policy, but read further it then says it does. Talking with the manager he said the policy is for dogs only 25lbs and under. They need to clarify this so people are not confused. the breakfast was good... Hot items (eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, etc.) and presented well. Overall cleanliness was average. Not terrible but but great either. The room and hotel was quiet and we felt safe. We would stay here again but need to make sure website is updated with current information of what is available and what is not.

There appeared to be a major operational issue: the hotel had not properly updated Expedia and other booking sites to reflect that they did not have enough clean rooms available. While rooms existed in the system, many had not been cleaned due to staffing shortages. Several guests were assigned rooms only to discover they were still dirty upon arrival. My room had been cleaned, but it was clearly not fully prepared for occupancy. It was missing basic items, including a chair, TV remote, and towels, as though furnishings had been removed and never replaced. The room was also extremely hot, and the air conditioning was not functioning properly. The following day, I requested to be moved to another room, but I was told none were available. This property is not being operated at the standard I have come to expect from IHG hotels. The staffing shortages and lack of organization resulted in a very disappointing experience. I chose to end my stay early and will not be returning.

Hotel did not disclose that the pool was closed prior to Booking. When asked about the pool, the front desk clerk stated we do have a pool, it’s just not open. The rooms had stained in the sheet, the desk in one room was filthy and the trash had not been emptied. The bathroom was disgusting. The desk clerk stated that the housekeepers left at 12:00 noon and only offered to change the trash. The Hotel sits behind an abandoned hotel. We were relocated by Hotel.com, but three days later have not been refunded by Holiday Inn.

not clean, didn't smell good, heard EVERYTHING from other rooms (even their intimate moments - which was disgusting)
