The staff were excellent, especially Emma on reception who was super personable and made checking in easy. There was a good spread at breakfast and adequate room. I got a free upgrade on my room when I checked in (thanks to Alexandra) which meant I had a very large room which overlooked the square outside. Free tours and experiences were available from reception, which was a nice touch. The decor in the room seemed a little bit off - bright green flooring, purple furniture and off-purple walls. Compared to the other hotels I stayed in Italy this summer, it didn't quite hit the 4 star quality in terms of rooming. Also, this hotel communicates A LOT. 5 emails and 5 text messages in the space of around 4 days demanding I check in online, wanting to know what time I'm checking out, etc. It all seemed a bit unnecessary.

The hotel had a very strong chemical smell, like a car deodorant. It made me nauseus and gave me headaches. The bathroom had black mould all over. There was no proper wardrobe in the room.

Nice room within walking distance from the train station and great staff. Check in was great. When the young woman heard we'd been ripped off by the taxi driver she upgraded us to a larger room. Breakfast was just okay. On the 3rd morning I got excited when I saw fresh pastries. Unfortunately they weren't for the guests. They we're for sale. I think they served us the same pastries 3 days in a row. They were quite dry.

Location is perfect if you want to travel by train. Breakfast was better than average, I don’t like the plastic-packed products though. Calm and nice atmosphere. The shower showed signs of wear even though it was recently renowated. Perhaps shouldve picked a more sustainable paint when renovating. But it’s just a minor thing.
