Rydges Rotorua

Double room shared with my friend was very comfortable. Clean and good size for the two of us, and bathroom was nice too. I like the location of the hotel but be careful of the smell from the nearby sulfur springs!! There was construction right next to our room outside so we could hear it from 8am. I spent most of the day out but my friend stayed in and was bothered by it. Shower didn't have a door but that's a personal preference.

The room was nice and big, bed was comfortable and shower was hot. Free parking with lots of spaces was good. The location was near Te Puia which we had visited on a previous trip so that was nice. It wasnʻt located near town but that was a plus. There was a little construction going on but nothing to cause too much distraction.

Comfortable room overlooking geothermal pools. Laundry, spa and pool, and gym facilities all very good. Free private parking

Same as some other reviews, the bathroom looks old compare to the newly renovated look for bedroom, especially the shower and looks rusted.

The Rydges Rotorua was an easy choice. Geothermal pool, close to Te Puia, the Redwood Treewalk, geothermal hiking trails, and the cutest cafe in a garden center. Rooms have been updated and it’s fun to float in the pool and watching steam well up from the geothermal area. We have to say, the buffet was cost prohibitive for a family of 3. We erred on the side of the a la carte menu instead and the food was good. We did have buffet envy though, but food is food and saving a little to afford the gondola and luge was a family choice.

Room was tidy, we enjoyed the Buffet dinner. Staff were friendly. Pool area was great. There was some dirt around the base of the bathroom taps, the room was between 2 buildings so no view at all. Our stay was only for 1 night.so this didnt worey us too much.

Bathroom needs updating as fixtures were very speckled with moisture, bed needs changing as the mattress was old with roll together Would not stay here again

The staff was friendly. The hotel was quiet. It badly needs renovating. Our bathroom faucet was so short that one barely could fit one hand under it. Carpets dirty. The pool deck had a lot of ants.

The room was absolutely unacceptable. It was visibly dirty, with mold present, and everything looked worn down and poorly maintained. Housekeeping during the stay was practically nonexistent, the room was barely cleaned. Overall, the property felt far more like a run-down motel than a hotel. The gym was extremely disappointing, offering only the bare minimum equipment and a single low-quality bench. The TV system was equally frustrating, glitchy and unreliable. The Audio Description setting could not be turned off, and at one point the TV froze on a single channel, making it unusable. This was a very disappointing experience and not at all what I expected.

The bar staff were fantastic, and a special mention to Jamie, who manages the food, beverages, bar and buffet — she was more than accommodating, so warm and helpful, and really made the experience feel welcoming. It was such a positive stay that I’m already looking forward to coming back again. I had a week-long stay at Rydges Rotorua and absolutely loved it. The staff were incredibly accommodating and genuinely lovely throughout my stay. Any time I had a question or needed assistance, they were there straight away. The bar staff were fantastic, and a special mention to Jamie, who manages the food, beverages, bar and buffet she was more than accommodating, so warm and helpful, and really made the experience feel welcoming. The only downside for me was the spa facilities. As I require assistance getting in and out due to a physical disability, there were no steps provided, which made accessing the spa difficult. I hope this is something that can be considered in the future to improve accessibility. Overall, it was such a positive stay that I’m already looking forward to coming back again.

It was located in a good area and the exterior is nice. Interior is heavily outdated with rusted parts, chipping on the paints of the wall. The bathroom is the worst part for sure as it looks like it hasn’t been updated since it was built. The photos on the site are extremely old compared to what it looks like now. Good to note that the smell is quite bad, not just from the nearby pools but how it mixes with the bathroom plumbing making it reek of urine.

Restaurant stall went beyond expectations to accommodate our celiac issues. It really is aa mater of life or death. Coffee and ice are average at the bar. Television was limited. It may have been that I couldn't figure out how to use the remote. But I didn't go to Rotorua to watch TV. Channel 10 was a Maori channel. I learned much about the culture. the middle of Maori Culture
