    Everything! Nothing

  • Engine customer Apr 2026

Cozy and big rooms, very well decorated, excellent breakfast. Parking just in front of the property, which is very convenient. But the most important is Nath, the owner, who is an outstanding hostess. Nothing. All was perfect.

Location Picture this, arriving on a first day of vacation and having a broken Air/Conditioner (turned off) constantly clicking and making a noise which makes the room non habitable. Upon signaling then problem to the manager, they acknowledge it as being an issue for up to 1 week, it hadn't been addressed though. Also,it seems like multiple clients complained without luck. I wasn't able to receive another room, since it was fully booked. Initially the manager agreed to reimburse me the full amount and I would look in the late afternoon for another solution. The owner refused, saying I am in France now, and should deal with it. Lengthy phone calls with booking solved nothing. I proceeded with consumer protection in France and with my bank. I do hope someone takes this into account when booking with them. Avoid at all costs. Plus the spider nets in the bathroom and half of the drains being clogged. Last but not least, there's no reception 24/7 on site, communication is difficult and the property marked my stay as a "No show " for me not to be able to rate them. I had to fight for this 2 days with booking.

This is a small hotel right at the lower beginning of the village. Very convenient to restaurants, bars, shops, etc. The rest of the village slopes upwards, so it is so much easier to walk back to after much good food and wine. There is a secure gate with a common patio area for wine and breakfast (not necessarily at the same time), and plenty of area to securely store bicycles. I had a Booking.com question about paid Wi-Fi. Not sure why since Wi-Fi was free and worked very well. All was good.

The location is fantastic for walking around the town. A cozy room decorated nicely. Everything you need for a comfortable stay except no standard bed pillow. The outdoor patio was very comfortable for enjoying an evening drink or morning coffee.

Communication was great. We drove she gave gate code. We arrived at 4pm at 4:30pm she met us in the beautiful back yard. Showed to our room and directions to the walled city. Shower was nice and hot bed comfy. After I took my book to to lovely sitting area with music playing quietly. In the morning 8am breakfast was served not a buffet.

Location and air conditioning Do your self a favor and choose another hotel. I chose this place because it looked quaint. I got the budget room (V4) thinking it was just small. I was traveling solo and staying 1 night. What I didn’t know is that the room would smell like sewage. I reached out to them about it and they explained it was coming from the shower drain. The hotel is at the bottom of the village which has old drains. That wasn’t the only issue. It was a comedy of errors. Signage for the place was not good. There is a sign in the main street high up. You can’t see it if you are in your car in the parking lot. If you did manage to read it it was in cursive and hard to read. No signage in front of the building. Parking is the public parking and it is difficult to find a spot. It is free from 7pm to 9am only. I got there after 2pm on Sunday so there was no staff. You have to figure out your room on your own. Once inside I found 4 signs. 3 had guest names and their room numbers. The 4th had no name but said suite so I knew it wasn’t mine. Turns out they forgot to change the name on one of the signs which should have had my name. I went back to look at emails from them and it just said V4 at the top. How does one know that is a room number ?! One of the emails says there will be a bottle of water in the fridge at your arrival. That was true but it was only a quarter full. I am an English speaker but am fluent in French and this shouldn’t have been this difficult. I called several times because I couldn’t find the place or my room, then about the smell. Not once did someone call me directly.

This was a great location for visiting St. Emilion I loved the garden

  • Engine customer Apr 2025

Lovely spot, large and comfy room, great staff - Jessica was super helpful in driving 30km on her day off to sort something out which was out of her control really. Huge bath but only lukewarm water even in morning. Sort that out and 10/10. Otherwise, maybe leave some coffee in room as well as tea, and for arriving guests, just a suggestion but switch to using the keyboxes already in place. When we arrived, our room had been "occupied" by another guest who preferred it to theirs! No biggie, they were swiftly ejected ?

This was a very well located hôtel close to the centre of St Emilion. It was easy to park close to the hôtel in a municipal car park. However, it was actually free to park on the roadside 100m or so from the hôtel. The room was clean, very spacious and filled with interesting pictures and objects. The breakfast was exceptionally good. St Emilion is a very interesting and historic town situated among thé famous vineyards. We enjoyed our night at the Ovaline.

Full marks to Jess who was exceptionally helpful and kind. A real treasure
