There are hidden fees, ie parking and deposit, that was not included in the price that I already paid. There was no pool as they were working on it, but no one said anything about it until we arrived. Also our room, 351, had the only doorbell-which I think was a fire alarm or something- but people would walk by and touch it at all hours of the night.

Amazing! Would highly recommend

Great area Hot in elevator and hallways
-
Staff were friendly and accommodating Barn-style sliding bathroom doors with large gaps offering minimal-to-no visual and acoustic privacy. Electrical outlets were loose resulting in plugged in cables falling out. Pillow case on the bed had washed blood stains.

Location was walking distance from Petco for a concert. Good selection of eateries All good

When you go outside the building where you wait for your ride it is smell bad. It smell strong pee and I think that is coming from the dogs that the residents owe from the The Cortez condos. I hope HIE will take actions on these comments as this is a turn off to visitors.

Amazing breakfast Location
-
The IHG property is in a good, quiet location across from the El Cortez. The facilities are clean and in great condition. An outside deck provides an excellent view of the city. The free breakfast offers a wide selection of items from pancakes, scrambled eggs, fritattas, sausages, cereal, and cinnamon rolls. Little Italy and the Gas Lamp districts are an easy 15-minute walk from the property. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. Unfortunately, the pool was closed for remodeling.

I rented 5 rooms for myself and staff. One we never could stay in 1001 right by the breakfast room. Started out about 5:30am in the ice machine over and over again to set up for breakfast. I was told would get a new room it never happen. We also had to change another room for another employee, the room smelled so much like smoke he couldn’t stay in it. The staff also told us the parking was $20 a night it ended up being $28.00. The garage we paid to park in was full one night we parked on a lower level to be threatened with a ticket for parking in the wrong place. The hallways were hot, muggy and smelled like mold and the pool was closed. No one ever offered to lower my bill or apologize. Terrible Location! Stay Away!!

Rooms were not ready at 4:45 despite published 4:00 check in time. Staff struggled to handle the justifiably frustrated guests. Rooms were big, A/C struggled to keep cool. Rooms felt modernized but rest of property did not. Location on far north end of gaslight district felt seedier than area closer to Petco park.

My flight arrived really early from Florida, they agreed to storage my luggage I did ask for early check in while I waited, I went for a walk in downtown and when I returned around 12:30 pm my room was available, staff was great and kind, room was wonderful, clean hallways and breakfast was A+ great view of downtown San Diego. Great hotel to stay! Great location a lot of places to eat near at walkable distance.
