This place was a joke. PARKING was horrible, very expensive and directions from check in staff was awful and parking garage i finally found blocks away. Homeless people and beggars all around hotel very uncomfortable smell of urine everywhere, room smelt of vomit and had to go to CVS to get lysol/air freshener for room. early am fire alarm goes off and front desk just shrugged there shoulders when questioned. The elevator broke down leaving me to go up and down 3 stories with a heart condition and with luggage again the shrugged it off and said they might be here today to fix it but don't know. There is NO a/c in room either no control of temputer in room. 2nd day they did not clean room or supply fresh towels again front dest says you need to request them to clean room and if you want fresh towels ya have to go to front desk and pick them up????? Lastly who ever did there online listing of there hotel completely falsified there place - theres no one pulling up in a mercedes getting out to check in - there is a person in a shopping cart pulling up false listing of place!!!!!! very disappointed and WOULD NEVER recommend this place for the price I got ripped off!!!!

The Mosser is in an unbeatable location. I stayed here for a work trip and it was great to be super close to the cable car, trolley, and BART stations.

Honest Review I strongly recommend staying somewhere else. This was easily one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The biggest problem was the condition and smell of the rooms. The rooms were extremely small, poorly maintained, and had a strong, unpleasant odor. The sheets had visible stains, and the entire room smelled dirty and musty. I honestly couldn’t believe a place in this condition is still operating. We had two different rooms, and both were disappointing. One had two beds practically side by side, with barely any space between them. The second room had only one bed pushed against the wall, with a sink squeezed into the corner right next to the bed. Even worse, there was no private bathroom or shower in the room—the shower and toilet were located out in the hallway. That was completely unacceptable. The front desk experience wasn’t much better. Most of the staff I dealt with were rude, arrogant, and not interested in helping. One younger employee was polite and helpful, but unfortunately the other two were the complete opposite. Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone. Between the horrible smell, dirty conditions, tiny rooms, shared hallway bathroom, and poor customer service, this was an experience I definitely don’t want to repeat. • Engine customer Aug 2026

The closeness to everything. Worn out carpet, no tea/coffee jug in room

The Mosser is a charming hotel! It is in an older building, but it was clean and well maintained and the staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the coffee service each morning in the lobby and our stay was very affordable.

The area around the hotel was like a zombie warzone after the sun went down. Lots, and I mean lots of homeless drug use around the hotel once it's starts getting dark. There were sounds that sounded like open combat from the homeless people combined with the trash services, and construction that did not make it a restful get away.

Clean room, nice staff. Arrived at Powell from the Ferry terminal. Very easy walk to hotel. Good restaurants by for breakfast or dinner. Shopping usually opens around 9-10 for stores.

This was by far the best deal I found for downtown SF. The staff were friendly and helpful, my room was small, but perfect for what we needed (2 singles)? and the bathroom was clean. The 5th floor was also quiet. I would stay again

This hotel was near a lot of restaurants and Bart transportation. We didn’t have to drive in to spend money on parking. We stayed for 1 day only and it was a very small room but for the price it was well worth it. I would stay agin for a short stay.

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

everything was great, parking was a little difficult since the hotel is located in the heart of downtown (which is a given at most hotels in SF). room was clean, loved the vibes of the room overall. overall happy w my stay!

However, they did not tell us that coffee was provided only until 9 am in the morning. There is no restaurant as pictured on the detail page on your website. False advertising. We rented a deluxe room that was about 8 by 8. Staff tried to be helpful but but did not give enough information

Location right by METRO and MUNI, department stores and restaurants. Large TV with the best cable channels. Low price

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

Horrible crack heads everywhere loud noises rodents people come in and out of room, slamming doors heaters was broken and stayed on all night. The knob was broken on it. This lasted for two days and then when we ask, does the room have a microwave with the front staff or anything they told us no it has nothing very rude customer service was trash. I would not advise for anybody to stay here.
