The room was cleaned but did have a little smell to it couldn’t figure out what it was

Breakfast room was lean on the selections... only the make your own waffle was worth having.. coffee machine was often not working as well as the juice machine. Overall, the location was great.. across the street was a popular ice cream place that opened till midnight on weekends. And our reception Yash was very pleasant and helpful in answering questions about the surrounding areas to visit.

It was a nice place and close to the boardwalk.

The rooms are large and sparingly appointed. There is a damp smell and feel to the room, but it is clean. Parking gets full. Several cars had to park against the alley wall. If I were to stay in Santa Cruz again, I'd choose a place closer to the boardwalk.
-
The room was clean, simple, hard flooring so I would bring a bed for the dog. Best ice cream place in town is across the street. Dining room is tiny, staff were very accommodating and polite. Beds were super comfy and the best pillows I've had at a motel. Solid stay for the week day price in the leak season.

Front desk was very nice for check in, offered area tips. Santa Cruz is a college town ( who knew, not us anyway). Walls seemed really thin & upstairs folks were very noisy. Lots of homeless too. Breakfast was kind of slim compared to other free breakfasts on our trip. Would skip another stay in Santa Cruz completely, if we were to come this way again.

Then, around 6:40 a.m., a semi-truck driver parked next to the complex and left the truck idling for about an hour. Again, the front desk didn’t seem to do anything. It felt like they were pretending not to notice. I also saw a lot of people mention that these rooms are renovated. Hmm… I’m not sure I would describe them that way. There was some new work done in the bathrooms and laminate flooring, but the furniture and bed sheets seemed quite old, and overall, the room wasn’t the cleanest. I really wanted to have a better experience, but unfortunately, there were quite a few things that made the stay disappointing.

Very good pretty area near store on ocean street and near beach boardwalk in Santa Cruz and downtown
-
The rooms were beautiful, spacious and comfortable. Pool was small but perfect after a long drive
-
The area is not very safe
-
Came in from Utah just to find out that they canceled my stay for what ever reason. The staff acted like it was no big deal and was no help in anyway. The worst.
-
No me gusto la attention del personal de front desk
-
Nice little spread for breakfast and clean room. The pool was empty
-
Definitely a good value compared to the closer-to-the-beach motels. The bathroom looked like it hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly, but it wasn’t unpleasant enough for us to mention anything.
-
There wasn't a trash can outside anywhere.
-
The windows don’t have screens (they also don’t lock), there is no water pressure (so bad we couldn’t wash our hair), water wouldn’t get hot, the breakfast is cereal/pastries (nothing of nutritional value), rooms definitely aren’t soundproof, hair in the beds, pool is closed without a reopening date (but of course that wasn’t disclosed when booking!), and the list goes on and on. Utterly disappointed and grossed out. The only reason we dealt with this was because we were there for 4th of July weekend so everything was booked and unavailable. But trust that we tried to get a new reservation elsewhere. It was so bad we ended up driving home late one night and just stomaching the cost of the room. Take your money somewhere else!
-
My only complaint is regarding the breakfast selection. The room is advertised to have a hot breakfast every morning, but unfortunately it was limited to all sweet breakfast items. They had waffles, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, sweet pastries, toast and bananas, which is a good start, but doesn't include anything that will put actual fuel into your tank, so to speak. I'm talkin' about: where's the eggs, sausage &/or bacon? Something savory or anything not sweet? Our last stay at a different Quality Inn had a bangin' breakfast with basically anything you can imagine and I suppose I expected something similar.

Check in was easy and simple, but there was no parking available.

I will never stay at this UNQUALITY INN!! its terrible...
