This is a good facility with a nice interior, good rooms, and helpful staff. It is in a rough area of the city. It’s not very safe to go outside at night. Also, the showers are all cold water.

Clean and spacious common areas. Bathrooms were always very clean. Bring enough usd dollars to make payment, otherwise they will not discount tourist fee.

This spot was picked out by a friend for us to stay. I would say the beds were comfy, the common area was nice to hang out and work on my laptop, and the staff was always super nice. Plus, the rooms and bathrooms were always clean. If the air conditioner in the bunk rooms wasn't on for a specific period of time, it was absolutely miserable. We were there end of October/early November. I would have to go to the front desk and request they turned on the air because you weren't able to do so on your own in the bunk room (no remote or switch available) and they have a switch they can flip on an iPad behind the front desk to turn it on. Some nights the room temp was nice and a reasonable temperature but others, an outrageously hot, trapped sweltering heat

On Sunday there was a club right in front of the hostel with a crazy party. The whole room was vibrating with the sound. It was impossible to sleep

I don't even have words to describe it, the place was wonderful and the volunteers were wonderful and super empathetic people, always helping me when I needed it, even when I was sick. I will keep this place in my heart, I will definitely return.

Pariwana is a cute hostel nestled in Santiago. The beds were comfortable, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the showers were deliciously hot. The wifi worked really well, and there were a lot of rooms available to sit and work. There were great stores and restaurants nearby, which the staff gave me recommendations for. The location is good, but it is farther away from downtown Santiago than I would have preferred.

Cleanliness, great. Staff, awesome. If you are looking for rumba and parties, this is your place. Keep in mind that parties within this hostel last until very late at night.

Nice big hostel, good security, good location, close enough to walk to/from the nearby metro station. There is a giant bar room with music and pool tables, in the basement are smaller, quieter chill rooms for working, reading or watching a movie. Technically there is a kitchen for cooking ( see below ). The dorm rooms and bathrooms were very clean, comfortable beds, lockers and a chair/desk in the room. Front desk staff were pleasant and friendly. Hostel is peaceful and chill during the day ( see below ). This hostel would rank very, very highly if not for the incredibly deafening noise from all directions after about 7-8pm and going all night sometimes. Because there are bars and clubs all around the hostel. But the noise is just insane. You have to use the earplugs they give you at check-in, but you'll still Hear and Feel the bass all night. When I visited Santiago the hostel was mostly empty. The bar staff tried too hard to "make a party" every night. It was difficult to use the kitchen or sit at the tables and eat, talk to other guests, because that room has loud music ( too loud ) all day long. And, you really do need to be careful with your cell phone in Santiago. Put it in your pocket if you go outside, and always pay attention. Several guests had their phones taken right out of their hands by motorcycle guys in front of the hostel the week I was there, and another guest was almost robbed because the guy reached through the hostel's fence. Listen to the hostel staff when they tell you to be careful. Locals know clueless tourists stay here and take advantage.

It has a nice social and party atmosphere, but that does not make up for lack of hygiene. 1) My bed had bedbugs which caused me so much trouble to wash everything. My body was feeling itchy for a few days. The staff helped with switching rooms and the laundry but did not seem to take the matter seriously. 2) Showers either not working or no hot water. 3) The club next door plays loud music until 4 am and didn't let me sleep as my bed was shaking from the sound. 4) There were some nice activities like city walking tours, but it randomly got canceled cause the organizer was not feeling like it that day.
