Only its location. I booked a Queen Room with a private bathroom for one night. Since it was a private room, I expected it to be clean. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst accommodations I have ever stayed in. Even the hostel I stayed at the previous night was much cleaner. As soon as I entered the room, I noticed a strong damp, musty smell. The floor was dirty, the air conditioner was covered in dust, and the ventilation fans in both the bathroom and shower area were also dirty. I turned on the air purifier, but it made no noticeable difference. The smell was so unpleasant that I had to sleep wearing a face mask. The bed was also far too soft, and I woke up with significant neck and lower back pain. I also wanted to do my laundry that night. I didn’t realize the washing machine required detergent to be purchased separately, as many hostels include it automatically. I had already inserted the ¥200 washing fee before noticing. The instructions said detergent could be purchased from reception, but the reception desk was closed after midnight. As a result, I lost the ¥200 and couldn’t wash my clothes. Plus, the laundry machine was really dirty. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it.

Very comfortable beds and friendly staff. Also has a laundry place. Showers were not that clean, no slippers, soap, etc. All amenities are additional so it was a bit hard to do anything without paying. Rooms were only the bunk bed + luggage nothing else would fit.

Centre of susukino AC could be cleaned up a bit more

Location is amazing, very easy to get around and find stuffs and spend a lot of time. Price is reasonable. Even on rainy days, you can get around as the alley is covered Can't store luggage after check out and sink is a bit clogged.

I had two stays during this trip . On the first one I arrived a little early and requested to leave my luggage till check in time and that was not an issue. However, when I asked to use the bathroom, it was flat out denied. Being an old lady in my 60s, I felt that was needlessly mean for the young staff at the front desk. The bathroom was right there. Young male staff day time duty not too friendly

The location was great. The attitude of staff was not good, from checking in to leaving. 5000 JPY for a lost key card is excessive. No soap to wash your hands and a sign threatening to call the cops if you take soap from the shower to wash your hands was par for this course. And then the sign that they won’t hold luggage after checkout. And when we’re arrived, there was a sign about nobody being at reception from 10:00 - 15:00 and a phone number to call. We couldn’t call with our international data sim, no what’s app. And a staff member pushed past us to a storage room or office. When we asked, he helped, but reluctantly, store our bags until check-in. When I went to check out, I got glared at until I left the key in the basket and walked away. So I guess the 5000 JPY is unenforceable? Oh, don’t pay more for breakfast. It’s either a ham sandwich or a hot dog at a local cafe.

The bathroom had a weird smell

It is my go to hostel especially if I need to atleast stay 1night in sapporo. As it is near from a coffee shop (which I loved) and near with susukino. Nothing

Breakfast not applicable. Location is convenient, easy for shopping, food. The refrigerator is too small.

When I checked out the hotel, a staff was writing something, and then she didn’t look at me just said “put your keys on this basket”. She didn’t smile as well. Location and facilities are almost perfect but I think I can’t say that the service is good.

The hotel is located along Tanukikoji Shopping Arcade and was perfect for our first time in Sapporo. Easy access to shops, drugstores, and department stores like Moyuk, Mitsukoshi, and PARCO. For getting around, you're also close to the underground walkway, streetcar, and subway towards Susukino, Odori, and Sapporo station. We stayed in the Japanese room and it was bigger than we expected as we are used to the smaller rooms in Tokyo at the same price. We had enough space to sleep and still access our luggages. The ensuite toilet and bath were also spacious for us. :) The room has a window that you can open and its own split type air conditioner. No need to worry if the building is on centralized cooling/heating. For private rooms, towels and amenities are already included. For those staying in dormitories, towels and amenities are paid rental. In the common area, there's lots of desk space with sockets and some cubicles for privacy. Wi-Fi was pretty good too! For the rest of our trip in Tokyo, we also stayed at other HOTEL + HOSTEL locations and we were comfortable there as well. The place used to be under GRIDS HOTEL & HOSTEL (I used to stay at the Higashi-Nihombashi location in 2015-2017) so it's beautiful and modern but shows its age with the scratches on the lower walls or disabled sockets, but the room is still otherwise nice, clean, and comfortable. If there will be four people using the room, there may not be enough sockets, so bringing a power strip may be recommended.

Amazing location and price. The capsule bed had just enough space for me to put my large backpack in and the visitors in the room were very quiet and respectful. It was a wonderful experience and a big bonus its located in the busy strip. I would stay here again.

Nice place, cheap and the location very good

The location was amazing. Room was quite small for the price. Staff made it really hard to enjoy my stay. There was no good faith and any request for assistance outside of the hotel was not met with any reviewal.

  • Engine customer Mar 2026

The location was 10/10, right in the heart of Sapporo shopping area. Walking distance to a lot of the sightseeing places in Sapporo like the TV tower. The airport shuttle is also right next door. The bed was super comfortable and there's enough space to put your belongings right next to the bed. It even comes with a small locker. Privacy was good and the common areas are clean. People there are quiet and respectful. You have to rent towels and slippers. Also it isn't quite convenient if you are traveling with big suitcases especially ski gears. It's a bit inconvenient to open suitcases or pack inside the dorm. The staff do offer to store the luggage during your stay, however, you can't get the stored luggage between 12-6AM.

Great location and nice staff, convenient rooms and pretty clean overall. Easy to come and go and the wifi worked well. Lock boxes on beds were a bit loose but secure enough. Room where I was staying had had a lot of beds which was fine, but some ventilation issues. There was a stale smell inside the room which I noticed when I went inside.

I didnt like the fact that i have to rent towel

I really like the location! It’s near Susukino and many restaurants and shops! We stayed at the room with on bathroom. Bed - I didn’t sleep well for the whole duration. They need to replace the foam. Dusty Room - I have allergies, and it acted up every night. I thought it was due to the carpet since we noticed some dark spots.

The location is perfect. It’s right in the center of Tanuki-Koji shopping center. Check-in/out was easy. Bathrooms were clean. The rooms are very small. The width of the room is less than arms length.
