Darwin's Townhouse provides accommodations a 5-minute walk from the center of Shewsbury. Shrewsbury Train Station is a 12-minute walk away. There are 19 bedrooms across the townhouse, located throughout it's Main House and Garden Rooms. Darwin's Townhouse is located close to the River Severn with its fine riverside walks, yet is within a 6-minute walk of Shrewsbury Cathedral. Nearby are many excellent restaurants and eating houses of all kinds. Birmingham Airport is 55.7 miles away. As Darwin's Townhouse is a beautiful Grade II* listed Georgian building, the main house retains many of its original architectural features. Please note that all bedrooms within the main house are accessed via stairs to the first and second floors, and we do not have a elevator. If you or a member of your party has any mobility concerns, we kindly ask that you take this into consideration when booking. We do have a limited number of ground floor rooms available, so please contact us before your stay and we will do our very best to accommodate your requirements, subject to availability.

Situated perfectly within walking distance of town centre and railway station. Ideally placed near to car parks.

Comfortable room with compact en suite. Nice garden area to sit in. Staff were lovely. The choice and quality of the breakfast was really good. It's close to the river for an easy stroll but only a short walk into the city centre.

We particularly liked Room 20 as it was cool and more private. We like the Darwin tasteful theme throughout and the interesting artefacts. The breakfast was very good, and the location is convenient for town centre. The garden is a lovely amenity. We were expecting bath robes as they were said to be included, but they were not supplied in the room. We did not notice until later when no staff available.

The fact that it was very central and had a nice garden We were not in the main building and we expected a nicer room from the pictures nevertheless it served its purpose.

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The garden was beautifully maintained and considering the location, very quiet. The breakfast was very good. The bedroom was quite small for two people.

The room was nicely decorated and they did store our luggage upon arrival prior to check in The hotel was unmanned from 7pm and some music had been left on which played all night long right above our room so we had hardly any sleep.

Great location, close to town and the Quarry. Great breakfast and excellent staff. Comfy bed and good shower. The room was pretty tight for a couple with suitcases.
