Koulen Central Hotel

Very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent The sheets and towels were washed with high scented detergent which is not what we wanted to put our face on - but to the Hotels credit with negotiation we had these changed to Non- Scented

I recently stayed at Koulen Central Hotel in Cambodia and overall had a comfortable stay. The hotel rooms are spacious, clean, and the bed had a lovely firm mattress which made sleeping very comfortable. The reception staff truly stood out they were absolutely amazing, always greeting me warmly every time I entered the lobby and making me feel very welcome throughout my stay. One big plus is the location. Right opposite the hotel is Amun Bar & Restaurant, which was excellent and ended up being my go-to place for meals during the rest of my stay. Unfortunately, my experience with the staff upstairs by the pool was less positive. I often felt they were unwilling to provide service and there seemed to be a lack of common sense in the way I was approached. At times, I even felt questioned about whether I was actually a guest at the hotel, which was disappointing and unnecessary.

The aircon thermostat was set on 24 degrees but continued to operate down to 18 degrees. I reported this but was not corrected.

Location was good, near a big mini mart which we frequented alot to get water. Staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast was great - lots of room and not bunched in together. We never had a problem with finding seating like I have seen in previous comments. They provided a breakfast box for us (which we organised the evening before) for our early morning pick up to the temples. That was great and a good amount of food. We had the cheaper 'atrium' room and yes, they were dark (as other reviewers have said), but we found that didn't bother us. We previously stayed in bright and lots of window rooms on our trip and honestly, they were hot and so bright in the morning, that we preferred a darker room. Walking distance to Pub Street and markets. ATM's close by and money changer. Noisy travelers talking in the hallways late at night, but that's not the hotels fault. Pool is warm/hot - but thats because it is hot (April) and not covered. But its still nice.

Nice hotel. Staff was great! Location was great. First room we had, had sewer smell right when we walked in. I had to tell staff to change rooms. The cleanliness of the room itself was clean and organized. However, the restroom was dirty, I had some water leaking from the shower to the outside of shower because the seal for door was missing. I used some tissue to wipe it up and was brown from being dirty. I called staff to clean shower since it was visibly dirty. But the grout and tile was stained and needed proper cleaning products they did not have and cleaning made no difference. I would recommend better and stronger cleaning products to maintain their facility. Seeing a dirty shower was unpleasant. Mopping should be better as well.

Excellent hotel. Central to everything. Easy walk to pub street, the night market, and Starbucks. Airport pickup and drop off was very convenient. The hotel concierge was very helpful in setting up tours in the area. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful. I would ask that at evening meals if the food could be delivered at the same time for everyone at the table. Two of the three nights we were there we ate at the 5th floor restaurant, but we watched each other eat as the food arrived at different times. The food was very good and a wide selection to choose from but not served at the same time.

Location, facilities, value for money. Great family suite !!! Room service food ordered came late and it was cold, salmon was raw inside. It was Valentine Day evening but still it should not happen

Restaurants, massage studios, and the famous Pub Street are all just a short stroll away, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the city. Our room was clean and comfortable throughout our stay, and the breakfast offered a good variety to start each day. But what really made our experience memorable was the outstanding staff. The front desk team and supervisors went above and beyond with their kindness and support, making us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. If you're looking for a hotel in Siem Reap that combines excellent facilities, prime location, and exceptional service, Koulen Central Hotel is an outstanding choice. Highly recommended! The hotel's currency acceptance policy requires revision to align with international hospitality standards. Currently, the hotel rejects foreign currency notes that are not in pristine condition, which creates unnecessary inconvenience for international guests. We used the same currency in other places within Siem Reap without a problem, demonstrating that the hotel's standards are unnecessarily stringent compared to local business practices. I recommend implementing a more practical approach that accepts legal tender in reasonable condition, consistent with standard banking practices. Minor wear on banknotes is normal in international commerce, and a flexible policy would significantly enhance the guest experience without compromising the hotel's financial interests.

Koulen Central Hotel has a great location near a lot of attractions in Siem Reap. Our room was comfortable and the breakfast had a nice variety. The pool area was great. It was nice to swim after a hot day touring. We enjoyed our stay.

Very kind staff, beautiful hotel with great breakfast. The location is also outstanding, close to many restaurants, coffee shops and bars.
