Views but whatever. The terrace (which has the best views and is in all their marketing photos) is off limits to guests, unless you pay $$$$ to have dinner there. Been traveling through Italy for a month and this is the first hotel that did not share information about how to get to the property. They did share information about making dinner reservations at their terrace a day before (sigh). After a full day in Pompeii, we reached Sorrento train station and could not find taxis or buses to get to this place. We called reception multiple times to figure out what to do and it took them a while to answer, then, instead of sending us a taxi or a shuttle or SOMEthing, they made sure to mention that we have to pay for the taxi, and offered a phone number. While we'd been on the streets for 2 hours and had communicated our frustration. The worst part for me was when we finally got to the hotel around 8:30pm, we were greeted with staff yelling at us, being defensive!! one dinner wait staff with blonde hair and beard mocked us, rolled his eyes and muttered things in Italian to the receptionist *right in front of our eyes*. I've never encountered vile customer service like this anywhere else in the world. While trying to find a taxi, we saw several other hotel shuttles picking up and dropping off their own customers. Not Tonnarella, no. Sunrise is at 5 am, their "beach", which you have to pay extra for, opens at 9am =) All this would be irrelevant if this was a normal €200 hotel. After paying close to $500 a night to stay here, I was expecting a much more carefree, pleasant experience. I don't know.. maybe conditioner and lotion in the bathroom? A kettle or coffee maker in the room!? Absolutely outrageous.

Beautiful location, great restaurant, rooms were nice and clean.

Beautiful location away from the downtown but close enough to walk to. Up on a cliff with an amazing view. Very good food. Excellent buffet. Amazing staff. Bed was a bit hard.

I have no words for the beauty of this hotel. It was my favorite out of the six hotels I stayed in during my stay on the coast of Italy. The view is stunning. The beds are heavenly and the breakfast was divine. Everyone of the staff was beautiful, kind and accommodating. I will never forget my time here at the beautiful location. Easily walkable to town and to the Roman ruin swim spot Bagni Regina. Thank you Annalisa for allowing you help and recommendations. I was so so sad to leave. I hope I can return one day soon! It was perfection.

Our room and the view from the room

Tonnarella was absolutely beautiful. It was a little outside of town (about a 15 minute walk) so we had a beautiful view of Marina Grande and the coastline. The private beach was perfect and a beautiful little respite from the heat and bustling city. Definitely a bigger financial investment than other options in town, but well worth it.

Beautiful. Nothing

The view from the room was breathtaking, featuring Mount Vesuvius and the coast in a 180° view. Maybe the most beautiful view of any hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The interior room featured pillars and carvings, very beautiful. The food in the restaurant was delicious. Hotel beach was convenient. Chilly May temperatures, but I did swim in the Bay of Naples. The room was uncomfortably cold. I asked for more heat, and there was some confusion for about 24 hours until a manager finally confessed that the owner decided not to have heat in the building after the end of April. They did bring me a radiator, but I am of the opinion that the guests should have the right to make the room temperature of their choosing.

We had room number 18 and the views of Sorrento and Mount Vesuvius were incredible! We had a few early tours and it was lovely of the hotel staff to arrange private transport for us to the Amalfi Coast and provide us with some hot americanos for the ride. We loved taking advantage of the included breakfast in the lovely dining room each morning. Also, very nice lunches on the terrace! Wish pillows were a little firmer, but would still absolutely stay here again.
