Hotel Marabout - Families and Couples Only

It was on the beach Biting bugs in the bed!! Wife and I both got bit all over our legs in the bed. We ran out of there as soon as morning came. The room was really hot as well and they refused to help us with a fan or turn on the AC. The party downstairs from our balcony was extremely loud as well. Some staff was rude and unhelpful, others were good.

This hotel is not a 3 star hotel. It did not have basic facilities in the room Restaurant was awful, not good food

- very good location, with a private beach. You have everything you need in this hotel: indoor pool, outdoor pool, aquaparc, jacuzzi, private beach. If you're looking for summer activities, everything is there. - the room is clean, with a beautiful view and a large balcony. There is a flat TV! Yes it's a small one (32" i think), but still it's flat which is not the case in other hotels. - security is a very good point in this hotel. I had a problem and they solved it very quickly. Cameras are everywhere and are very useful since the hotel is very crowded in the summer season with many people. - the food is just perfect! Many varieties, very tasty, not spicy (i was stressed about spicy food since Tunisia is known for this, but no, the food in this hotel is not spicy at all). - very good animation team. Many activities. No boring time. - bad things start in the reception: the staff is not helpful at all. I just felt like they do what they can to make me feel uncomfortable! Once they take the money, you're not their guest anymore: one day i had some issue, i went to the reception, he just turned his back and went away. I started making some noise, he replied that he had a costumer to manage. I asked him what i was then... They are not helpful. You must shout loudly to be served. - the flat TV i mentioned in positive points comes initially with no remote control! They asked me to pay an extra 20 TND for the TV remote control! I gave them nothing and instead I made some noise and shouted, they gave me one. - there is only one elevator, sometimes the waiting time is a little bit long. - in the restaurant, although the food is tasty as i mentioned earlier, the dishes are nothing else than dirty. Cups, plates, you have to verify everything. - you have to wake up early to secure a place near the pool. - dinner is served early , between 6 pm and 8 pm.

Staff were lovely , the place is very clean the rooms are cleaned daily , the food is stunning there was such a good mix of food , water and drinks are not included but very cheap to buy , the restaurant staff are very attentive and want you to enjoy your experience. You can buy charging cable for the corner gift shop called travelex next door , the pool is nice and warm and they have outdoor pools and slides , they have a spa but the other hotels in the strip also have spas and restaurants and there is a sushi place walking distance , the supermarket smaller mini markets and a pharmacy are walking distance most medication including antibiotics can be bought without a prescription . There are other restaurants onsite and the pizza and pastas are delicious . It's definitely a kid friendly place The place does look dated but is definitely is not dirty the staff work hard to keep it clean

great hotel for the price. staff work hard. cleaners are always hard at it. no problems. food could be kept hot. also i would love to be able to have toast .

Very good

Hotel is in a good location - perfect for families that want a relaxing holiday by the beach. On our first night we were put in a room that did not look like the rooms that are being advertised. Honestly felt like leaving on the first night, however we stayed the night and then asked the receptionist in the morning about the room we were given; she managed to swap our rooms and we were given a nicer looking room that is advertised on bookings.com Overall, experience was good, staff were friendly, and the other residents were nice.

Location was great. Everything else was horrible. We booked this hotel for the slides. We were charged for a big room with two bedrooms one for me and my husband other with a closing door for my child with a second double bed. When we booked in they gave us a tiny box room with one bed and a little mattress on the side of the bed. No room to move about. When I complained they said the room I paid for wasn’t available. We changed room to a bit bigger but still no second bedroom. Beds were very very uncomfortable and the double bed for me and my husband was just two single mattresses put together. We were still charged the full price for the bigger room and was told an adjustment of price was not available because we booked with booking.com. Breakfast was disgusting and restaurant was dirty. We wanted to stay an extra night in sousse but had to leave the horrible hotel and left early without using any of the facilities. Might have been nice 30 years ago but now it’s run down and not a place you want to stay in.

Good variety of food for breakfast and dinner (local specialities). Large bed. Swimming pool can be used 9-17.00. You should ask TV remote control from recepition and pay deposit for it. Sauna was not working during our stay. Waiter may charge more for the drinks than in price list.

Decent sized pool, hotel located on the beach. Food not continental, too spicy and often first in took most of it.
