Tiny area for improvement, great job having a bottle of still water and glasses waiting the room. Refill the bottle in the mornings or...place a pitcher at the honor bar so we can refill. Definitely recommend and would stay again.

We stayed in the Blue Room, which overlooked the street from a lovely balcony. It was quiet, filled with beautiful morning light, and spacious enough to spend a relaxing afternoon reading or simply enjoying the room. While the bathroom was shared with another guest, it somehow added to the charm—it felt more like a cozy sleepover than a hotel stay. Breakfast was my favorite part of each morning. It was a simple European-style spread with cheese, meats, fruit, coffee, and other thoughtful offerings. There is also a bright, beautiful room to enjoy breakfast, read a book, or unwind with a cocktail in the evening. The entire home feels like a preserved piece of Spokane’s history—part Victorian, part reflection of the city’s lumber-era roots. Everywhere you look there are details to admire, and it’s easy to lose yourself in the beauty of the space. We originally booked two nights for the weekend, but I enjoyed it so much that I extended my stay for an extra night before heading back to Seattle. It was the perfect way to treat myself and slow down a little longer. I will absolutely stay here again the next time I’m in Spokane.

Some reviews mentioned a problem with the shared bathroom if you choose one of those two rooms. I thought it was fine. Everyone was considerate. However, if you are traveling alone I wouldn't recommend staying in a room without its own bathroom because it is, indeed, an old house that is not heavily populated, and that could seem spooky if you have to leave your room to use the bathroom/shower at night. There is street noise from the Garden Room, but turning on the wall unit A/C was plenty for covering it up, as another reviewer helpfully suggested.

We loved the breakfast. I mentioned our likes and things we skip before ahead of time and they made a beautiful spread for us. The main area is very comfortable it was easy to park and enter with the keypad. They can’t do any about the traffic noises. We are from a very rural area and forget how noisy the city can be. And how much light there is. I think this location is better than some for that but we had a little trouble sleeping the first night. The second night was better as we either could have got used to it or we were so tired from playing tourist all day.

Cute building, but really creaky stairs and the bathtub didn't hold water. Breakfast was tasty enough but less than we were expecting. Otherwise the room was clean and no major complaints about the stay

The house itself is a wonderful house with TONS of character and well-appointed/refurbished. There was parking off-street/aside the house, which was nice. The decor was great, the bed was very comfy (we had room 3 which shared a bathroom), the bathroom was adequate, the host was nice during morning conversation, the foyer/common area was pleasant as was the music they kept on in that area, the continental breakfast and coffee was good for us (but not extensive), and the honesty bar had good options (but we didn't use). I also liked the digital door locks so I didn't have to carry another key around. It was also within walking distance (for us) to the Gonzaga campus and some eateries/Continental Trail/etc so it was convenient for sightseeing. The big issue was the road and people noise, especially at night--this house is adjacent/nearby several frat and sorority houses and they were have a great time during graduation all night, with no concern about neighbors. It may not be an issue at other times--YMMV. Additionally, the streets it is on are busy with traffic during most hours, so it wasn't a quiet stay. Sadly, the character of the old windows also lent themselves to not having great soundproofing. I had asked by phone and by booking.com messaging about the possible noise, and didn't hear anything back, which leads me to what I didn't like--lack of communication. Also, we never knew what room we had (though the emails and signs at the property all said we should have been told it). We figured it out, but just FYI. For those that can't do stairs, be advised there is no lift. Also, make sure you are OK with sharing a bathroom as 2 of the rooms share a bathroom (separated from the rooms).

Staying here is like stepping back in time to a more elegant and refined era. The house is filled with antiques and has been decorated with great taste. It has a wonderful sitting area downstairs, and the bedrooms are whimsical and delightful. The breakfasts far exceeded my expectations. Maybe best thing of all is the proprietor, Holland. She is warm, engaging and thoroughly charming. My wife and I hope to have reasons to visit Spokane, again, soon, so we can stay here, again.

10-15 minute walk to Gonzaga University, amazing breakfast and comfortable room.

Convenient location in the middle of Spokane. Very comfortable bed. Continental breakfast was delicious: croissant, fresh fruit, yogurt.

Easy parking, breakfast was satisfying.

Cute furnishings and very helpful on-site staff. It was difficult getting inside, my code kept getting rejected.

The minor things for me are 1) room is a little bit dark and have not enough lighting and there is not enough outlet to charge phone but I think those are because of the historic old building. The stair got to the secod floor is really squeaky and make a lot noise especially when someone walk up at night. And the biggest thing for me is the noise level from the street outside. There are lots of fast moving car (like racing) during the night on that street for some reason

This was my second time staying at the Marianna Stoltz House. The property is absolutely charming. You feel like you are invited into a friend's old historic home. The attention to detail is beautiful. Holland is taking good care of her guests. It's truly a unique experience.
