The Grand Hotel

Better than I expected, particularly the professional services from hotel staff … from reception desk, room service, to kitchen staff. Definitely will come back again ! ❤️

Very nice

Our stay was comfortable and our room was big! We noticed that the lamps in our room could use some updating and the A/C system was a bit loud. The free breakfast offered variety of bread or muffins, scrambled eggs, mini sausages, cereals, yogurt and fruits.

Thé rooms are spacious, but the hotel has air conditioning problems ( second to third week of Aug, 2026 which it appears they may have been trying to fix. Workmen were seen working on the hallway vents as we walked by on our first two days of a 10 day stay approx. They were not seen after that! The problem caused a loud continuous hum all day and night long. We were moved to another wing of the hotel outside the main building. The rooms were spacious and had a modern wooden floor which was nice but not sure they were as clean as they could have been. The bathrooms in the two Queen beds were very nice. Unfortunately, the air conditioning in the second room did not work at all despite our complaints. The temperature was not unbearable, but it would have been nice to have had some fresh air. On our final day, it was working. Breakfast is decent. Gym is decent. In summary the hotel is nice, in a good location for surrounding areas and ample parking, but they need to solve their air conditioning problems. The staff knew about the a/c issues, and did their best to accommodate but ultimately management should get the problem sorted pronto!

Exceptional

The bed was comfortable, size of the room great. I only wish we had more time to try out the tub. It looked so inviting. The breakfast was yummy, specificity the eggs. They tasted real, lol Nothing on your part. Our timing was off, we missed the happy hour.

Staff were friendly, dealing with our two cars was easy, and for the very discounted rate we got I don't mind that the room did not have a microwave (required extra charge?). The one thing which bothered me, and dropped rating to 4 stars, was that the breakfast area was chaos. I think they were seriously understaffed, because half the tables had no people but were still stacked with dirty dishes, the hot food wasn't getting refilled, and every supposedly clean dish was dirty, including the ones that the staff got for us from the kitchen. But we would happily stay at the hotel again, if we could get the Annex.

AC was super noisy, couldn’t sleep so we decided to just check out at 0730am.

Classic older California hotel with seating area and kitchenette, clean well maintained and comfortable. Only downside is my (adult) daughter was coping with a knee injury and we didn’t realize our room was a walk up (no elevator). There were no alternatives as the hotel was fully booked (we were there for BTS concert at Stanford) . We managed but it would have been good to have that information more prominent during booking.

Staff could not turn off noisy heat and air fan. I took out the batteries so we could sleep. Constant loud hum in bathroom. No hot tub available due to repairs, would have been nice to know. Expedia was going to cancel and refund, no one at the Grand available to authorize so we were stuck with this red.

We had a faulty AC unit and it would blast a sound every 20mins or so when it turned on. We didn't sleep well and I mentioned it to the staff. The breakfast in the morning wasn't stocked when we got there at 930am, not many options left.

The hotel is clean, beautiful lobby. Convenient parking. I really wanted to like this hotel, but the white noise in the room was way too loud. There was some constant noise coming from the wall between the rooms. The AC is a separate story, it's almost ridiculous how loud it was. We had to turn it off for the night, as it was waking us up every time it would start. Breakfast is terrible.

The beds and the pillows. Breakfast woman was foul. Bad attitude. Breakfast was better during covid, way better than it is now. Lots of little comforts have been removed making this hotel generic rather than better than your Normal hotel chain. Also the hot tub has been on repair for years.

Rooms were clean and great size. Front parking was closed. Breakfast was average. Came with your basic plus scrambled egg and sausage also boiled egg
