Would be great if there was an elevator. But everything else was perfect!

Great location, quiet. Easy access self check in - good communication. Small kitchen facility. Comfy beds. We had a quadruple room for the four of us (two teens). Well equipped and cozy. While the quadruple room was novel and cute it really was very small - comfortable for sleeping but tough for the four of us to manage getting ready to go out for the day, packing to leave etc.

I liked the location and having an onsen so close by was great. The rooms were too small for us. The pillows were very uncomfortable too.
-
The room was very small hard to manage 3 people specially with luggage.
-
no hand towels in the room

I love the convenience of the location of the hotel. It is about 12 minutes from the train station. It a short walk to most of things to see in the town. There is a city bus stop on the same block. The staff is great and friendly. The hotel is very quite, never heard noises. The room is more than I expected and the beds were awesome.

We like the guest hall where its warm and there is a charming kitchen well equipped with pantry and long table for a family to gather and have a quiet and comfortable meal together. The charming red bridge of Takayama and Takayama old town is just a 5 min walk away from the hotel. All very very close nearby. Room can be a bit small and compact. But we do like the way the layout is designed and minimalistic and modern.

The name of the place is written in very small letters; if one comes at night, it won't be easy to recognize it. We were on the 3rd floor and there was no elevator

Great and friendly staff.

Cup of Tea is a lovely, interesting little inn. We stayed in a 4 bed room, which was well laid out, comfortable and surprisingly spacious. The warm wood tones and paper screens were a nice detail. Fun common spaces, good for meeting fellow travelers.

Great location, very unique and comfortable stay.

The beds were designed to use the space well. Great location within walking distance to everything Takayama has to offer. The staff were great and loved a chat! The room design was claustrophobic with low windows to knee height and then walled to the ceiling. Our neighbour left their outdoor light on all night and it shined directly into our eyes as the beds were low/aligned with the windows. We had all of our luggage stacked up to block out the light. Maybe the outdoor lights could be put on a timer?

The location is in a very good central area, just minutes away from the morning market and the town area. It will be ideal if you are traveling outside the whole day and only returning for a good rest at the hotel. Since the shops at takayama closes quite early, we have to hang out in the hotel room which has a major space constraint, and we ended up not having a good rest. There is no extra space to sit around so we have to sit up on the lower deck of the “bunk beds”. My husband had to slouch his back as he is quite tall, he ended up just lying down the whole time. The windows (part of their aesthetic) also do not come with a curtain, so it was really bright at 630am onwards, as the window is right in front of the bed. Definitely not for people who want to sleep in. There is also no luggage space to open up 2 luggages at one go though the room accommodates 4. Not for travelers who is traveling with heavy baggage, as there is no lift as well, thankful we are at the second level. The kettle and microwave in the common area is also not well maintained. So we ended up not having hot water for coffee/tea There were a lot of dust in the room as well, when we had to open our luggages on the floor we discover bouts of hair under the bed that was left perhaps by the previous guests.

It was clean and everything was as expected.

This is a great place - a super-stylish hotel, but with hostel-type facilities - a beautiful shared lounge with cooking facilities. The rooms are small but full of light and well thought-out and the futons are incredibly comfortable. Great location and they even provide baskets of toiletries to take to the nearby sento.

Strange architecture (windows at feet level - not possible to watch outside). Spartiate bathroom. No staff on site.

Spacious and comfortable room. Lovely interior design throughout. Great communal space. Good for families.

Great location. Spacious sitting area and kitchen where we can prepare some light food. A bigger room would be better.
