JR-East Hotel Mets Shibuya

It’s a great location near all trains and Shibuya crossing. I loved that there was coffee on the main floor, and the room was very nice. The lounge wear was also incredibly comfortable. There weren’t a lot of dining options close, other than the malls.

Breakfast was great! There was a wide variety of foods for the buffet and they have a new coffee machine that can create lattes and other espresso drinks.

Proximity to the train station Very small

The room was nice ad clean although small. The location was great. The free in coffee and tea in the lobby was great/! The room I received on the 1st night was noisy (load train) but I was moved to a different room which was quiet.

Great location near the New South Gate of the Shibuya train station, Room was quite, comfortable and clean. It was on the small size but that's Tokyo. Staff was friendly and helpful. It was a decent value given its location Breakfast which was included wasn't the best. The facility it was served in wasn't very nice. Rips in the flooring and the chairs were stained. Coffee machine was broken one morning so no coffee that day. On another day there was no hot tea which is hard to explain. There was very limited selection of "western" breakfast item i.e. no jam for the toast, no yogurt, no pastries / bagels, no OJ, no oatmeal and only one way to get eggs (no hard boiled, no scrambled, no omelets) and only 1 type of fresh fruit was available each morning. I understand we were in Tokyo but a few more options were expected.

I’ve honestly never seen service like this before. Beautiful view, and only about 10 minutes from all the main places in Shibuya. I’m coming back to Shibuya and I’m actually sad I’m not booking this hotel again! It has everything you could need, and the staff are incredibly polite. Simply wonderful!

The room was clean. We liked the location of the hotel. We did not like how small the room was. We could not comfortably both open our luggage and have access our belongings while staying in the room.

Well located an friendly staff Bit hard to find even though it was very close to Shibuya station and extremely noisy due to the proximity to the station

Great location on the south end of Shibuya Station and access to multiple public transit lines, restaurants, and shops. Fantastic shower temps and water pressure. The bed is placed against the wall making it hard for a second person to get in and out. It was also pretty hard with a small pillow.

?Convenient location - small amount of noise from the train tracks right below but manageable and worth it to be so central in Shibuya. ☕️ Coffee machine - we opted not to do breakfast included and the accessibility to a morning coffee was a win. ? very clean We did Osaka and Kyoto before Tokyo and were spoilt with slightly bigger rooms in both locations. The room is clean, the bed was comfy, but for 2 people with luggage it felt a bit squashed. The bathroom is also somewhat of a camper van style. It is clean and functional, but the doors/wall are thin. It was absolutely fine just not amazing.

The location was good and the staff was excellent. The pay washing machines was an excellent bonus and very handy to me as I hate traveling with dirty clothes . I don't really have any complaints, but if I had to make a complaint maybe the breakfast could have been a bit better, but I enjoyed overall.

I liked that the hotel had 6 guest washing machines, vs only 3 at the JR East Hotel Mets Akihabara location where I stayed 10 days prior. I loved getting two bottles of water every day. It was great to be able to drop off the luggage a couple of hours ahead of the 3pm check-in time and also leave it for 3 hours past the 11am check-out time before heading to the airport. I would stay here again if other hotels in the area are equally priced. The room faced the train tracks and up until around midnight, and again from 4:45am onwards, the various trains would come by every minute or two and it was noisy. Compared to JR East Hotel Mets Akihabara, the hotel rooms seemed a bit more dated. Everything was always clean yet the bathroom and design made the impression of being not as new as those of Akihabara. I wish I could have let them know that even when I say that I don't need a room cleaning, I do not need a big bag of fresh towels, slippers and gowns.

The room layout was a bit awkward. We expected it to be small but we did feel like we were tripping over our luggage a bit. Looking at the other room styles now, I would definitely book a different room size in the future!

Services Staff Cleanliness

Almost everything was exceptional. The restaurant was very good, especially the French Toast. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, don't have enough nice things to say honestly, the location is absolutely perfect. Right where I wanted to be, everything I could think of at my fingertips. No where to really eat in the room if you were using the one surface for your things. The rooms were small enough that opening a suitcase was problematic. The pillows were much to soft and unsupportive for my personal tastes, but others may prefer that. The laundry machines don't quite get a load dry on the first cycle, bit the extra 30mins did the trick.
