Place is in great need of upgrades/renovation. Exhaust fan didnt work in the bathroom. No hooks for towels. Desk chair was cracked and in horrible shape. The location is great but it needs lots of tlc

Property is old and our room needed updating. Shower was mediocre, and the faucet control was loose. Bathroom window sills needed cleaning, as did the carpeting in the room. I will not stay there again.

Great hotel that’s definitely seen better days

The hotel needs maintenance; our room had a peeling bathtub for example. The lobby is dated, the elevator to the rooftop bar was broken. Convenient location to downtown and the free parking was nice.

Nice staff. Room door was adjacent when we arrived. Older property but location was centrally located.

The 5 stars are all about the location. The perfect spot to see Traverse City. There are a few negatives, the main elevator does not work so all guests must use the service elevator which is worn and the wait can seem like several minutes. The top floor restaurant has a beautiful view but because the main elevator is broken you have to either take the service elevator which opens into this old dirty kitchen area or the stairs which for a couple approaching 70 can be daunting. BUT as said, the location and friendly staff out trumped the poor perception of the elevator situation just be advised. Also the restaurant staff and offerings were off but with the location there are many other options.

The staff was great. Beds were good. Bathroom in need of a make over. The hotel is old with character. If the bathroom was remodeled then it would have been much nicer.

Clean rooms as it is an older hotel some things need to be check and replaced.

Like the Park. Ive stayed there numerous times. It’s close to the downtown area, so you can walk. Rooms are small, as well as the bathroom, but I guess thats expected because it’s an older hotel. But, all in all, it’s a nice place. I’d definitely stay there again.

I paid $500+ for one night, rooms smelt of mildew, hotel was dingy and the only perk was the location. There was nothing special for this “historic “ hotel

Great location but hotel is very old and needs to be redone

Asked if we could leave our car overnight as we cycled around the area and received a firm “no”. They seem ed to have plenty of parking in the lot. Property seemed to be patched together in didn’t areas. Way over priced for serviced received.

    Friendly staff. Great location.

Quiet despite being downtown; clean room although the bathroom area had a faint wet-dog odor. Everything else was nice and clean. Bed was extremely comfortable. Would stay again!

We had been on site for a conference last week and that’s went well however we did not have a room. Decided to book for our night on the way back through. It was disappointing. The room felt damp even with temp at a 66. Wallpaper was peeling in bathroom. Not exhaust is a problem. It looked like the decor in the main room was updated but the bathrooms were dated and worn. Even the bar at the top of the building was disappointing. Some black paint and fixing broken mirrors would help but the drab worn space was a detracting from the great views. I would not stay here again.

Okay, not worth the price. Staff is nice and rooms were clean but in need of an update, hotel is older/historic. For the price tag I expected nicer rooms. I arrived at 4pm to check in and room wasn’t ready until 5pm. Great parking though!

Incredibly run down hotel - Carpet tiles coming undone in hallways, elevators incredibly old and dingy and very damaged. My non smoking room smelled like a cigarette and the sink wouldn’t drain. Truly the most poorly maintained hotel I have ever stayed in. Will never ever go back.

Location was good Bedding was old as was the general condition of the room and common areas. Elevator didn’t work.

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

Outside of main building grass wasn't cut and landscaping was a mess. Parking lot was FULL of weeds and trash through out entire lot, Room 711 was a joke. Outdated , wallpaper was pealing off on ALL walls. Stained ceiling and yellow dirty outdated outlets throughout room. Windows were filthy. Carpets had nasty stains right by the bed. I was charged over 500.00 for the one night. Should have been 150.00

Rooftop bar was old, but staff were great!
