Ramada Tropics Resort & Conf Center by Wyndham Des Moines

The condition of facilities are slowly deteriorating. Worn out carpet and chairs throughout the property. We did not have enough pillow for all the guests in our suite and the front desk didn’t have any to give us. The ran out of the large towels so we had to use small ones to dry off. Positively, everything in the pool are washed operating and the water was great. I do think k the Tiki bar being closed is losing you a lot of money… I want to love this place, rooms are huge, pool is awesome, restaurant has a great build out, but it really needs an operator who is focused on the guest experience and not on pinching every penny.

Overall, the I would suggest anyone to stay at the Ramada. It’s a really fun hotel. Staff at main desk and restaurant were very helpful and there was great service. The water park is super fun, but it got packed quickly on a Saturday evening. Food from restaurant wasn’t bad and we really appreciated how easy it was to order food right on the premises of the hotel. I really hope that next time we stay, it a little more updated. Cleanliness wasn’t an issue, just needs many updates. The baseboard trim in our room was shredding, water pipes are rusting, and it looks like all the windows could use a good clean. But it was a very fun place to stay with kids.

The pool area was fun for the kids. I had to slam my door like it owed me money just to get it to close all the way. I'm guessing the humid from the pool was causing the door to expand. The breakfast was probably the worst hotel breakfast I've ever seen. Better off just not offering it. Have the hotel manager stay at hotels in the surrounding area that offer breakfast and compare his hotel breakfast to theirs.

We had to wait over an hour to get our room. The pool area was air conditioner was broke. Carpet was dirty. They closed the big slide Thursday morning, so my grandson couldn’t use it and that’s why we stayed there. I would not recommend this motel to anyone.

Had to wait at registration so the host could finish her cigarette out front. At least 5 minutes. Because of the pool, our room was sticky, rusty and dirty ceilings. Sink and toilets were both loose.

We stayed there 3 years ago and this property has taken a complete nose dive. It is disgustingly filthy. Couldn’t wait to get a refund and run…..by alll means ask me for pictures

Property is dying for a renovation. Despite some reviews this is not a family friendly location.

Fun water park sucked tiki bar closed. Just kind had a ghetto feel. The pool had way way way too much chlorine. Rooms nice. Great restaurant.

The waterpark was a big draw for our kids, and the price was right, so we booked the room. The size of the suite was pretty good. The front desk staff was not very friendly or helpful, and the elevator close to our room was out of order. The rooms were fairly clean, but we did not have sheets or pillows for the pull-out couch, and when my husband went down to request those, they gave him sheets and said they'd bring pillows, but they never did. Then, as we were about to go to sleep, I saw a mouse in our room. I had my husband go back down and request mouse traps, which thankfully caught it, but then when my husband brought the trap back down to the desk with the mouse, they told him to not bring that there and to throw it in the trash. He wasn't about to keep it in our room trash container! We were also disappointed that the waterpark didn't open until 9:00 am, and closed at 9:00 pm. This only allowed us to utilize it for one day out of the three we were there, because we arrived late in the evening on day one and had an obligation on day 3 where we had to check out around 9:00.

We chose this property because of the waterpark, which the kids did like. The property itself is in need of renovations starting with a thorough cleaning.

My family and I have stayed there several times over the last couple years and we liked the facility like the water park The toilet was broken. They never got it fixed and said that they didn’t have any other rooms so all night long the toilet backed up into our room and we had a choice leave and go get a higher rate or stay there. Nothing was done about it nobody even really said sorry

Love the waterpark! The kids loved the arcade too! It was great, I just have a “thing” about sleeping in a bed that’s not my own.

Nothing There was mold all over my room, I tried asking for a new room and they would not accommodate for it.

Very nice accomedations. Helpful and caring staff. Fantastic Waterpark area. Sweet to obtain a room on the floor next to Waterpark pool. Really appreciated every bit of our stay.

Rooms need some updating. Ceiling in our room was peeling and vent was rusty. Was double charged for room.

There was a very strong smoke smell. It was very difficult to breathe. The hallways looked like they could be vacuumed better. Overall, it did not feel clean. Requested blankets to be sent to our room and they did not get delivered

walked into our room and it reeked of urine. the comforters were stained, the bathroom was full of mold, there was a giant bloody handprint on the curtain and i could see what i assume was bedbugs behind the tv. left within 5 minutes at went to the days in at the airport instead. dont stay here

The pool was nice and stuff It took a mile to get to the room and the entrance by d stunk like someone peed in the doorway
