Homewood Suites by Hilton Vancouver-Portland

It's a pretty hotel. The room was claen and rooms have been recently redecorated and I like the cool colors much better than the yellow and orange they previously used.

The set up of the property was very nice. We liked house we entered our room from outside. And they upgraded us! We stayed Sunday to Thursday and didn’t receive any room service.

It was our only night together for dinner and the host didn't seem to care one bit... no apology and no recommendation for dinner nearby or any help at all. I called Hilton and they never called back after promising to give us some sort of compensation. Pathetic....no hospitality ....no interest in our travel plans... the host only told me the service for the hotel was short staffed. I don't think we could stay for hours after check out? Could we? But we scheduled to arrive when our rooms were ready at 4pm check-in time to get ready for dinner and nothing....

Staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, the place was clean, and the buffet was really yummy. We loved the fresh baked cookies and snacks in the evening as well.

Great place to stay, walk the riverfront. Rooms have been redone since we last stayed. Restaurants nearby.

Very spacious

The hotel staff was amazing in all staff positions. The size of the room was perfect for us and loved how dog friendly it was. The location was close to many places to eat and a short walk to the waterfront. Easy to get to downtown Vancouver or jump on a highway to get to Portland. The breakfast was the one thing that stood out. It had a variety of options, well maintained and tasted amazing. Grounds of the property were well groomed. The hotel was short staffed in housekeeping which added an hour delay getting checked in because the room was not ready. We were offered something from the Suite shop as a consolation for not being checked in quickly. The pool and hot tub were being maintained all 3 days we were there and saw no one working on them nor did the staff make us aware it was unavailable. Bummer, since one of the reasons I choose this hotel was because it had a hot tub. The bed was harder than expected and the pillows were tiny. The furniture was functional over substance. Not a comfortable chair to sit in located in any room. For the price, I was expecting a bit more comfort over just a place to land. The carpet in the elevators looks awful like a cheap motel. The water pressure was not great and took a long time to get hot water. We made the best out of what was offered.

I would have given this 4 stars because the place itself was awesome. But 2 things put me off 1 the listings say king size beds when we went to say something to the front desk person to report the problem of having a queen size bed but he insisted the hotel only has king size beds and made my boyfriend and I question ourselves. So we got a tape measure and sure enough it was the size of a queen. Other thing that kinda sucked was the pool was closed the entire stay we had to go ask why when we went to go to use it and was told us that the pool was closed due to ducks popping in the pool. Why were we not informed when we checked in? The breakfast staff were amazing! The breakfast food was great every morning and the eggs cooked to perfection each time. We also loved the breakfast meat changed each morning. The hobbit door was cool!
