Residence Inn by Marriott Walnut Creek

We’ve stayed at this property numerous times over the years visiting family nearby. This is considered our home away from home. After a long flight from Europe it was so refreshing to know exactly what to expect from this property. We are grateful for the outstanding staff and valet services, which is top notch. The amenities, especially the washers/dryers provided is a godsend. The breakfast provided is always appreciated, thank you for this. We will continue to stay here in all future travels to the bay.

Breakfast was great. I love the space of the 1 bedroom units. Your parking valets are truly kind people-you’ve contracted with a good company. Both times we’ve stayed for long periods of time we were troubled with bug bites. Management was good at reacting after being told of the problem. This past time we had bugs. Maintenance sprayed and we were rid of bugs. Then eggs must have hatched as we had bugs again.Not bed bugs, but some kind of biting bugs. Why should we have bugs and why have we had to report it both times we’ve stayed long term. And can’t you do something to get rid of them permanently?

Love this property’s proximity to the Walnut Creek BART station; just a quick 10-minute walk and you’re there. Breakfast was very good too! I could stay here again.

The hotel was a bit pricier than surrounding area hotels, but it was a great stay! We enjoyed the room layout, the view, and the proximity to local restaurants and shops. We also enjoyed the continental breakfast and the valet were friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a great stay and I would come back and stay again! The $35 valet fee felt expensive. I would have preferred the option to self-park.

Great hotel in a very central location. Close to cute downtown Walnut Creek for eating and shopping. Clean and spacious room, comfy bed and nice staff. Love that they accommodate pets. Complimentary breakfast was good. Valet parking was easy and convenient but there is paid parking in the front and on the side of the hotel which is less costly if preferred.

Fantastic value for the price!

I was disappointed that this Marriott location did not offer rooms with 2 beds. I have stayed over 850 nights at various Marriott hotels and this was the first location that only offered 1 king size bed with a couch that can be used as a second bed.

Room not ready. Dirty bedding bundled up in bed and tv still on for a room signed off as ready. Housekeeper barged in at 8:03 eager to leave work early for the day. Thank goodness I was dressed. Woke me up. I took the room to sleep! Staff are inmates running the asylum while the GM is out. Requested late checkout was granted it. 1 pm . Reg checkout 12 pm. After breakfast I went for a walk. Returned. At 1015am. Before breakfast I put the sign on door “later please” I returned 1015, “later please “ was removed, trash bin on the counter, and my personal effects had been picked over. Includes taking my 20 dollar bottle of alcohol, a full bag of fresh grapes all food items. Earlier I had collected yogurt and breakfast items to have for brunch in my room before I departed. That was all gone. They were eager to get me out because they want to go home early! If they are salaried ….. get it? Also, breakfast ends at 9 am! Guess we’re walking into the breakfast area and shocked to find at 9 o’clock that the doors were being closed to the food area. I sat there and watched his four different guests came down and had to turn around and walk away. Most places do that at 10 o’clock. I had to ask myself. Are they doing this because they want to leave early? Also, there was a utility cleaner lady walking around.. scrambled egg on the floor of the self-serve breakfast area. Thought to myself oh good she’s gonna pick it up. Nope. Got herself coffee , walked out.

The desk person upon our evening check-in (6pm) was clearly not in a space to be customer service oriented. The room was clean. The breakfast was okay, but basic. The Valet was kind and friendly as were the desk associates upon check out. Overall-average

The hotel was nice and staff were friendly. Only thing that lost a couple stars was that we had to wait almost 30 minutes for our room due to staff still cleaning it at 4pm. Luckily the gentlemen took off $10 for valet.

New clean property, well kept I would say the one thing I didn’t like was that you are forced to valet parking. $35 dollars a day. There’s no self parking on the property.
