Room nice and airy, the bathroom is on the smaller side. House is in a quiet location and short walking distance to the town centre. One slight niggle is the is not possible to open the window properly due to lock fitted and during the heatwave with the window getting lots of the afternoon sun the room get uncomfortably hot. There also is extra parking charge of £ 18/per night which was not clear from the Booking.com advert, but given the difficulty parking in the town that is acceptable, just should be made clearer

Fantastic location. 10 mins walk from the train station, 5 mins to the wall, near the minister. Room was large, comfortable beds and very clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Couldn't recommend enough. Nothing. Lovely hotel.

Location good for walking into city centre. Breakfast freshly cooked and is first class. Staff really friendly and helpful. Nothing.

The hotel itself is OK. The breakfast was tasty. The location is excellent. The person at check-in was incompetent and unprofessional. First, she attempted to question that I paid for breakfast through Booking despite a printed confirmation which unambiguously stated that "Breakfast is included in the final price". Only a threat to call Booking has stopped these misguided attempts. Second, despite my request for a quieter room, she gave me a room in a basement under the breakfast space on the side of the building facing the railroad. Just think about it: From early morning people would be stomping over the ceiling of that "quiet" room in addition to the trains passing by! I am sorry, but when you employ such incompetent staff, you should not expect more than 7 out of 10. I am sure you can do better than that.

The best part was a small but well equipped gym and the hotel is only 10-12min walk to York centre For the price, breakfast should have been included.

Staff were so friendly and very helpful. The location is fantastic, so close to everything but far enough away that it's very peaceful at night. We loved the garden to sit out in the evening.
