Nice and clean. Good location peace and surroundings by the mountains

The private hot spring baths were very nice, and the outdoor one was also quite pretty. The toy displays were a charming feature that added a lot of character to the property. The rooms were also quite big. The lack of elevator means this hotel is inaccessible to people who can't climb stairs, and the location is a bit far from the main sightseeing areas of the town (but only relatively).

Quiet location within 5 minutes' drive by car to train station and downtown area. Communal area includes lounge and kitchen. The place is decorated in 1960 Showa era. It was chill to sit down, relax and take a lot of photos. There are 3 rooms on ground floor and 5 rooms on 1/F. The rooms are huge. Staff can speak a bit English and they are very friendly. Make sure you tell them in advance as the place is unmanned between 9:00pm to 9:00am. There is no in-house restaurant. The kitchen has a microwave machine and an oven. Make sure you clean up your mess after you finish. Nothing to complain even to a fuzzy person. Free Wi-Fi is sometimes slow.

Staff and location were great. Staff went out of their way to support my group with seemingly endless room rearranging, filing a police report when we had damage to our rental car, and helped move our luggage. The bikes were great too. Besides the wonderful staff, this accommodation was wildly disappointing. We had no idea how their ratings were so high. The space is extremely run down, dirty, moldy, smells awful, and offers very little- not even bottled water. We booked three rooms for four nights and one room was so incredibly moldy and musty that we couldn’t stay and had to bunk up. They used incense to “clean the air” instead of replacing the very old carpets and addressing the obvious mold and mildew. They would not allow us to cancel or get a refund, but had no where to put us. Reviews show others have made the same complaints yet they keep booking these specific moldy/odorous rooms. We had to change rooms over and over again based on what was available- it was a hassle for all of us, packing up daily to move to whatever room was available instead of refunding us and allowing us to find a clean and suitable accommodation. The WiFi wasn’t working on our first day. The AC units were hard to operate so rooms were either very hot or very cold. Lights were tricky to control. The bidets were out of order, the toilets ran all night long. The shared kitchen had dirty communal sponges and offered no basics like ice. The coffee options left much to be desired- undrinkable. We were also instructed to pay an additional 400 yen per person upon arrival for the onsen- whether we used them or not. The hours of the onsen were frustratingly limited. This extra cost was not disclosed and felt misleading. We definitely would not recommend using this “hostel” at best.

private onsen the premise itself is a bit old.

Staff (Gilang in particular) was wonderful: booked an excellent area restaurant and surprised me with treats/birthday card in my room. Rather run down-vintage decor not really my taste. It was a bit remote-had trouble finding my way to nearby restaurant in the dark.

The staff is super friendly and helpful (we booked the wrong date and they just changed it for us) Location is not too far from the centre (walkable) and it’s quiet Private onsen rooms, almost no one is using them so it’s easy to find a available room Nice decoration around the hotel, nice terrace Good value overall Has a full kitchen

I hope I’ll have the chance to come back again. nope

provide private outdoor onsen and they have kitchen facilities downstairs. they provide free coffee even though is via the vending machine but it was very nice the room got smell when you open probably because the place is a bit old
-
It felt like it was a little abandoned. They really need to replace the bicycles. They're almost unusable. We were deciding between one place and another, and chose this one because of the bikes.

The room is wide and comfortable. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The facilities are fully equipped, I really love thero private Onsen. The location is a little bit far from train station and shopping street, Difficulty in walking during rain.

Lovely guesthouse in a rural setting that was in walking distance of key tourist spots in the charming Yufuin. There was a large lounge for guests to use that was very pleasant to chill in (loved the quirky decor) and access to a kitchen to cook yourself food. Coffee machine provided free hot drinks.

Fabulous location and had private baths from a natural spring. Good sized rooms. Nice entrance and seating area. Very interesting, quirky house. Free coffee machine. Quite run down in places. Our room had a very musky smell and we didn’t enjoy being in there. Did not sleep well. No breakfast available. We were allowed to use the kitchen, which we did but a very old paper cloth was on the table and all though cooking was allowed, there wasn’t really anything to cook with!
