Hotel am Rathaus

Close to everything, tram, busses, walking, etc The shower head turned and almost flooded the bathroom.

The location is excellent, with its own basement parking facilities. While there is a minibar, it would be preferable if it were emptied and used simply as a fridge. The room lacks a kettle and does not provide coffee or tea. Only one complimentary bottle of water is offered. The young lady at check-in was very helpful, guiding us from the ground floor to the basement level (-2) parking. The breakfast staff—one of whom also works at the front desk—were excellent. The breakfast room has only 34 seats, so it’s advisable to reserve in advance or arrive early when the hotel is busy. The shower area is separated from the toilet and basin only by a curtain, making it difficult to avoid getting the entire bathroom floor wet.

Breakfast was a bit disappointing

The property was in excellent location. Room was small but clean and quiet. Breakfast was regular. Not much to choose. Parking entrance very narrow. It seems more B&B than a hotel! It’s like a B&B.

Location was very good and parking was a real benefit. The bathroom was very small but, clean and functional. WiFi service was awful. Devices would not stay connected due to the slow performance. Breakfast was okay but rather minimal

Excellent location - very central but quiet for sleeping, and comfortable rooms. The person on the front desk was not very welcoming - perhaps they were having a bad day. Also the bike parking was not secured due to a problem with the garage door, which made us a little nervous (not sure if this was just a temporary issue).

The location was surrounded by by ‘undesirables’ at all hours. The surroundings were not clean areas. The parking garage was beyond difficult! So narrow the compact car barely made it in with windows folded. Much too stressful for rental car drivers. The bathroom was too small and the shower was just standing in the bathroom with a curtain around you and drain in floor. Carpets very stained.

My wife and I enjoyed our five-night stay at the Hotel am Rathaus. While our room was neither large nor contemporary in design, it was comfortable and well equipped. Moreover, the high-quality furnishings were in perfect condition. In addition, our room was quiet, the Wi-Fi and Internet access functioned well, and our room was properly serviced every day. For us, the location of the Hôtel was ideal. Not only is the hotel centrally placed and within walking distance of most attractions but it is also very near stops for three tram lines. Moreover, many restaurants and cafés can be easily reached on foot from the hotel. The hotel does have a lift/elevator that works well, but persons with limited mobility might prefer to look elsewhere for rooms that are more spacious and less encumbered.

Excellent Service Friendly and attentive staff

Located right in the city centre with easy tram connections to any non central sights. Secure car park, with lift to the hotel. Very friendly, helpful staff. Good breakfast at a reasonable price. Very comfortable beds with good quality linen and soft towels. Fridge and lots of glasses in the room, ample storage space, extra pillows. Large enough desk for 2 people using laptops and 2 chairs (some hotels seem to think a double room only needs one chair!). Some reviews mentioned traffic noise from the cobbled street outside - we had no noise disruption with an excellent night's sleep despite having a room overlooking the road. We have already booked to stay again. Like many hotels in Europe there are no coffee or tea making facilities in the room.

Everything! The staff are amazing! Andy remembered us from last year! Our room was great! We got married while in Augsburg and the hotel gave us a bottle of champagne a small gift and a note of congratulations! Nothing! This property is awesome on all levels
