Hotel at the Lafayette Trademark Collection by Wyndham

Was sent to our first room with no air conditioning. Called down and sent us to another room. Second room we could not get the fireplace to light, called down again and front desk told us don't know guess it doesn't work, its really just for show. My husband said, we know but wife loves to watch at night. The front door were never locked when we came in at night. The breakfast place is open, just keep on going past the bar to the back and you will find people. At no point during our stay was the front desk people friendly or helpful. Probably wouldn't stay here again.

Hotel is historic and the rooms are pretty nice, but they are rather dark, and the lobby is dimly lit with ugly blue lighting. The gym was a disaster, with half the equiment broken or run down and weights all over the place.

Great location. Park at the garage first - then get your parking pass/voucher. Much easier.

Exceptional

The hotel was very nice overall. The building is beautiful and everything was clean. Our room was spacious and even had a nice small adjoining living room, which was a great bonus. The location was also very convenient. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.

Very unique and beautiful building! Good location for sightseeing! Could have paid more attention to detail regarding cleanliness. Overall, great stay!

The hotel is under staffed - when went for check-out in the morning there was no one manning the desk eventually after 15 minutes had to leave card on counter and go and the coffee shop that was anchor for the hotel has closed

handle broken off of the bathroom door shelf missing from the bathroom, just brackets left on the wall mold in shower dirt on the floor ceiling HVAC very dirty

This hotel is simply worn out and needs a refresh. You have to park down the street in a garage. The area has a very sketchy feel. Felt like a ghost town in the lobby. Basically has a cheap motel feel.

Beautiful, historic hotel. Very clean and spacious rooms. Kind staff. It was in a very scary part of town. I have travelled alot on my own and do not scare easily however I would not recommend this hotel if you are a single female traveller unless you have a car.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff is very helpful and polite. This was my fifth visit to Hotel Lafayette. I think they need to do a bit of maintenance and repairs to their rooms. Our room showed a lot of wear. Table and desks tops are looking rough, some baseboards were damaged and a towel rack was missing in the bathroom. There was a used bar of soap in the bathroom. Having said that, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was nice. I would stay there again. The room needed repairs to the furniture and floor molding.

Disappointing

It is not clean, smells covered up large air fresheners, horribly soft bed, broken things in the room. Hairs on the sheets, dirty and rusty coffee maker. Night staff who checked me in had pink eye and passed it to me touching key cards and products sold to me. Not well maintained, dirty furniture, bath plug didn’t work, large hair on the bed not from my ethnicity. The bed was awful so soft no spring whatsoever.

It was 75F outside and my room was uncomfortably warm. Ac wasn’t keeping up

Great downtown location. Well maintained historic hotel

The room was decent and clean but the hotel was very old and smelled old and moldy. The air conditioner blew right onto the bed and we were forced to turn it off as it was so uncomfortable blowing on us. There is some sort of bar next door and we got a sketchy greeting from some men in front of there when we arrived. I was more than a little concerned that I had driven a nice vehicle to this neighborhood and was pleasantly surprised that nothing happened to our car. We just did not get a sense of safety at this location. The elevator indicator did not work it was stuck on 5 but the front desk person said it only went to 3? We used it a couple times then opted for the stairs. There was no one in the lobby except for when we went up to the front desk and they came out. It appeared to be deserted every other time we went through the lobby. I would not recommend this property.
