for just a quick stay- its ok for the price- staff is always friendly- hotel smells amazing

Simple check-in, room was decent, drywall was done recently by the looks of mudd dried on the ground, little roach but nothing more after. Close to downtown Charleston, made for easy uber pick ups, nice view of marina. If you’re looking for just a room to shower and sleep, but Charleston, this would suffice.

Probably the absolute worst place i have ever stayed in my life. The room Epedia booked for us was in a very old building where the door wouldn't even close properly. We asked to be moved and they moved us into the main building for a 30$ fee. In the new room the toilet and shower did not work properly. The room was dated and falling apart. I have never in my life dreaded having to go back to my hotel room like I did here. Breakfast was ok but lobby was small and the AC was not working properly. This place was not worth the 200+ we paid for it. We also had to pay an 11$ a night parking fee. Thank god we only spent 1 night here because we got the heck out of there asap!

This is a great place to stay the breakfast is very good, this motel is close to the hospital.
-
The room smelled. Mold everywhere. Guest service terrible. Morning breakfast…. Was none and 45 minutes until it was over. Carpets were black from how dirty they were
-
The place was filthy . There was bugs in the bathroom the phones didn't work the shower curtain rod was broke and the carpet had dirt so bad you had to keep your shoes on. Don't stay there.

The room was old and needed updating. A dehumidifier would be a definite plus- everything in the room felt wet and damp, especially the bed nearest the door. Because of this, there was a smell in the room. Up around the headboard smelled like sour milk- almost like a spill that had not been cleaned up properly. I even wiped the headboard down with soap and a cloth but it didn’t improve. We had to go and get towels and body wash from the front desk- after I had to call them on my phone because the phone in the room didn’t work. Will not stay there again or recommend to anyone.

Cleanliness was not a priority.

People smoking pot 3 doors down from us and the breakfast could have been a lot better

Great location. Enjoyed my stay

legit prob the dirtiest most jankity hotel I’ve ever stayed at. room smelled like old stale cigarette ashtray, carpet was sticky the hallways were full of dirty linen from the rooms at 4 pm, carpets all stained 2 building 3-4 floors, 1 ice machine in lobby for both buildings, the breakfast couldn’t even get near it. everyone had eggs and sausage piled high on their plates and kept running out of food line for waffles was 20 ppl deep and what a mess. we walked out without breakfast bc it was a circus. the pool looked pretty gross too. I’ve stayed at decent laquintas across the country, this was worse than even philly and that is saying something. never again

The hotel is an awesome location, the outside of the hotel looked great then you get inside and it is completely run down the carpets are absolutely horrendous also the chair that was in my room needs to be thrown in the trash it looks like it's been there from the beginning of time and the leather was completely peeled off of it. The inside of the room itself was very clean and the bathroom. There was dirty laundry in the hallways the whole time we were there. And as I said the carpets were just in sad shape. The owners of this La Quinta need to very much do some upgrades.

The front of the hotel overlooks a marina, which was a nice surprise. It's more of an industrial area, but I enjoyed seeing boats stacked several levels high, almost like merchandise at Costco. There was also a pool that looked clean and was being enjoyed by several guests. I stayed in a king suite. The room was a little dated, but it served its purpose. The pony wall had quite a few scuffs and marks, but everything I needed worked. The TV seemed like it would have made more sense in the sitting area, and my room overlooked the back of the property. There were a few maintenance and housekeeping issues. The rear entrance by the elevators wouldn't unlock with my room key, and another family said they had the same problem. The third-floor hallway needed vacuuming, and on the second night, piles of used linens were left in the hallway and were still there the next morning. The staff member who checked me in could have been a little friendlier, but I got the room at a great price, so the overall value was definitely there. All I wanted was a place to crash for a couple of nights away from the rest of my family, and it served that purpose just fine. I'd stay here again.

Not the best breakfast, only one elevator worked, it was poorly maintained. The view of the marina was nice. Close to the beach and local shops
-
Bathroom was not cleaned well, the floor felt slimy (wore my shoes at all times), there was a pill laying on the floor, and the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash bottles were empty. Only one elevator cab was working and the treadmill in the fitness center was out of order

The stay was nice and we had a good time in Charleston

We liked our room in the older building, which was Handicap accessible from parking to elevator to room (150) with grab bars in the bathroom and shower area, great to have dorm size fridge and microwave Staff in main building check in, etc.were OK but often times at check-in desk. There were just several people talking to each otherLobby and breakfast area were humid and not comfortable and quite loud, but that might be related solely to the other folks staying at La Quinta. Next time I will gather breakfast for my spouse in a wheelchair and take it back to our room
-
The toilet is too low for older folks and people with bad knees, etc. We were told it was $11 to park when we got to the hotel (which I did not see when I booked the room), but was not told it was per night. That is extremely disappointing. Especially since there were not many parking spaces close to the entrance. I found out when I checked my bank account. That amount was not put on my receipt. I will look elsewhere to stay on a return trip.

I used to take my son to MUSC and always stayed here so when I was visiting Charleston, I naturally thought this would be a good place again. I was so wrong! From the time we entered at the registration desk, it was a bad experience. The person at the desk stayed on her phone through the entire check in. The floors throughout the facility looked like they had not been vacuumed in weeks. Pieces of trash littered the floor. Our room was musty smelling. I question if the linens had been changed because they smelled like dirty socks. The refrigerator froze all our food ruining it. Breakfast consisted of powdered eggs, greasy sausage, and bread. There was a charge for parking, which was not mentioned on the website. The pool was so overcrowded there was literally no room for us. Needly to say, it was a very bad experience.
