Planters Inn is a refined hotel with wonderful amenities and a great value

The staff were super. Extra bonus points for the custodial staff who cleaned rooms *twice* per day. Overall, 5 stars.

The downfall of Planters Inn is that room #226 had stains on a couple of the chairs and on the carpet. There was someone else's hair on the bathroom floor when we arrived which is a pet peeve of mine, especially at a highly rated hotel. The bathroom itself contained a plastic tub/shower instead of a walk-in shower. The mattress on the bed was old and unsupportive which did not lend to a good night's sleep and the "night stand" was so far away from the bed I had to sit up to reach my phone or turn the light off and on. What was worst of all was getting awakened at 6:30 in the morning to the sounds of trash thunking in the dumpster outside our window. It was in very poor taste for the hotel management not to have told us about the renovation going on which would have allowed us to make an informed decision about whether to book the hotel or not. We loved the city, the people, the food and the history but we will NEVER return to this hotel.

They are renovating and you really can’t tell. 5 star service. Everyone was very attentive. Tommy was great. Always available. We will definitely be back! The coffee shop was great as well.

This is a truly beautiful and peaceful place. I believe it is better suited for adults and couples looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway, rather than families with young children. Shopps nearby

Great central location. Very charming property. Nice room. Clean bathroom. Friendly and helpful staff. We will definitely stay again when we return to Charleston.

Property is under renovation while we stayed. We could not have asked for a better room, considering the price very old-school southern feel to the room.

Loved everything about our stay at Planters inn. Historic charm, super comfortable, and top-notch service. Huge shotout to Banks and Paolo, they were so welcoming , helpful and took great care of us! Can't beat the vibe of this hotel in the French quarter.Just so authentically ADORABLE!

Love it! The staff here were a 10/10. They were super helpful and extremely nice. I landed very early and asked for early check in due to being up since 1am that day. They had the staff prepare a room in under an hour. I can’t thank them enough for that. Rooms were clean. Property was really pretty. It was extremely close to all the shopping/things to do. My only complaint is the charge for valet parking. It was 40 dollars each time you used it and no one communicated that to us. At the end of the stay I had a 240 dollar charge that I wasn’t expecting. But everything else was a 10/10

Just WOW. From check-in with a complimentary wine tasting, free waters, complimentary umbrellas, valet parking, bell hop and turn down service, to fresh baked cookies on the night stand, our stay was 10/10. The lush garden entrance and the coconut cake next door were all to sheer heaven! Thank you for a wonderful getaway weekend!

The hotel is under renovation which changes the overall experience. Our room was clean, quiet & had charm of times past. We hope the renovation doesn’t remove that charm.

Showers could you some bleach. Staff were nice enough. No pool. Historic property that can be good or bad depending what you are looking for. Great location.

The staff was helpful but the hotel is not up to date. It feels old and dusty. Not of the expected standards of the Relais and Chataeu hotel chain.

Just a lovely place in a lovely part of a lovely city. A calm, quiet oasis. Can’t say enough for the kind employees and the well-worn comfort of a historic hotel. I hope it’s up and running in another hundred years.

Very historic hotel in the heart of Charleston. Beautiful big room with giant King Size bed and plenty of of air conditioning for the heat in Charleston summer time. Wonderful stay, would definitely recommend and book again !
