A cosy and comfortable 18th century house with guest rooms on the second floor. Our host was very gracious and helpful. Delicious continental breakfast was very welcome. Hard to negotiate the stairs to the second floor if you have heavy luggage or are elderly.

The air conditioning in our room didn’t cool the room. It went off/on continuously leaving the room at a 25c + temperature for our whole stay. There was no way to adjust the fan speed so we had very anemic air delivery. Outside air temperature was 30c and only cooled down to 22c after midnight. Then we could open the windows.

Evelyne and Pascal are the perfect hosts. They enjoy people and love sharing their home, city and history. They have created a heavenly retreat for travelers. We arrived by bicycle - and they are only a few blocks from the train station. It is an easy walk to anyplace in the town - and Evelyne helped us with suggestions for what to see and do - and eat. Our room and bath was spacious with attention to every detail. Good bed, chairs, kettle and tea, lots of storage, great shower. We ate dinner cooked by Pascal that was superb, in the quiet of the garden. If you’re going to Cognac (and you should!) Suite en Terrasse by Evelyne and Pascal is a must. All good!

Our hosts Evelyne and Pascale were kind, wonderful people! Evelyne shared her in-depth knowledge about the city of Cognac and showed us key sites on a city map for us to explore during the short time we were there. We enjoyed our conversations with them. We had booked a home-cooked dinner and Pascale made a gourmet meal with appetizer, main course, wine and desert. Evelyne introduced us to a cocktail using a local liquor. The accommodation was within walking distance of the city. It was clean and nice, with a good-sized modern private bathroom. Breakfast was very good.
