The Ascot Hotel Köln

The location was excellent—just a short walk from the metro station, making it easy to get around. The neighborhood was lively, with plenty of restaurants, shops, and convenient access to the city's main attractions. No direct elevator access, so carrying luggage up steep stairs was inconvenient. AC was weak, basic amenities were lacking, and housekeeping and breakfast details were not communicated clearly.

It’s a nice hotel. The room is big, clean and comfortable. Location is good and front desk staff was very friendly.

The breakfast menu is not very diverse. wifi because have restrict access website and app difference country.

Not clean, carpets is dirty, sheets not changed from previous gusts.. Hair from previous guests on the toilet floors

Location was good TV Channel selection was rather local and it would have been great if they had a fridges in the rooms.

The hotel was in a convenient location, close to public transport, which made getting around Cologne easy. The price was reasonable for the area, so in that sense, it offered decent value. Despite being advertised as a 4-star hotel, it fell far below that standard. The area around the hotel was very noisy at night due to nearby bars and clubs, and it didn’t feel entirely safe — especially with a noticeable presence of homeless individuals and questionable activity in the neighborhood. The most frustrating part of my stay was that the Wi-Fi didn’t work from day one, and the hotel made no effort to resolve the issue. I raised it with the receptionist, who simply said, “Sorry, we can’t do anything about it.” That’s not acceptable customer service — especially for a business in the hospitality industry. At the very least, they should have offered some form of compensation, like free breakfast or a drink voucher, but nothing was offered. The attitude felt dismissive and unprofessional.

A refrigerator and a mini coffeemaker would be better.

The hotel was absolutely amazing. The staff was very friendly and super helpful. I arrived early after requesting to leave my bags until the room was ready but they already had the room ready so it was great timing. It was incredibly comfortable and so relaxing after several days of travel. I took a business card so I can remember to stay there again.

The room was very basic but had a safe. The code I entered was my own choice. On checking in I was offered a free bottle of water. Very good quality in a glass bottle. The staff were very friendly. I booked without breakfast. Stores are within walking distance. The hotel is easily accessible by the underground station Friesenplatz.

The room was clean and comfortable. For us, the mattress was too soft, but not critical. The staff is friendly, convenient parking and good location.

The hotel room seemed vintage but comfortable, the beds were in good shape and spacious rooms The location of the hotel is in a very busy party street. During the weekend the music from the clubs, restaurants and bars were so loud that you could hear everything from inside the room even with windows closed. I am glad I took my earplugs, that helped to cancel a bit of the noise but still it wasn’t fully comfortable, because otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to sleep at all!!! I stayed with my dog and had to walk him early in the morning but the street where the hotel is looked like the after of battlefield full of drunk people sleeping on the floor, leftovers of food, broken glass and even human throw up. I will never ever consider coming back to this hotel and I really hope anybody that is planning to stay here read all the reviews and get information about the location.

Good location, clean The water in the shower was not getting properly hot.

property was quite dated, yet in a pleasant classy English way. my problem here is that I’m unsure if it’s worth the price. the gym and sauna facilities were adequate when opened, as the opening and closing times were quite tight. my even bigger problem here is that the location of the hotel has a lot of nightclubs, and as you can imagine, creates a lot of noise. while I understand that it’s not the hotel’s discretion to make this clear, I wouldn’t recommend staying here during the weekend.
