Our stay at Rakuyu was absolutely exceptional and exceeded every expectation. The views were simply breathtaking, making every morning and evening feel special. The property was spotless, and the attention to cleanliness was evident throughout our stay. What truly made this hotel stand out was the staff. Everyone was incredibly warm, welcoming, and genuinely committed to making our experience memorable. Their hospitality was second to none. The food was another highlight. The breakfast offered an outstanding selection of fresh, high-quality options, and the evening dinner was equally impressive with delicious dishes and excellent service. From the stunning scenery and immaculate rooms to the outstanding staff and exceptional dining, every aspect of our stay was perfect. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious, relaxing, and unforgettable experience, and we can't wait to return.

The location is amazing

The most beautiful hotel in Fuji area

The view is gorgeous! One concern that I had is, the staff were not replenishing the foods for the cocktail hours, even though it was only 6 pm. There were empty bowls and the guests were furious. They eventually served new foods but they should have been more efficient.

The property is amazing, rooms are massive! The views from the room and the onsen are breathtaking. Location is fabulous, can easily walk to the cable car and viewing points, the lake and the station. There’s also a shuttle service provided by the hotel that takes you to the station. Food is amazing, staff was really attentive and helpful. The best stay of our entire trip to Japan!

The hotel itself is very beautiful. The food was very good and some of it (and beverages) were provided for free, several times a day. The onsens are very nice. You have to take a very steep street to reach the hotel. It doesn't have mount Fuji views.

The rooms were spacious, updated, and had a great view. The breakfast and cocktail hours were amazing with great food. The hotel had a very good shuttle to and from Kawaguchiko station but if we wanted to walk to and from the hotel anywhere else, it was a bit of a hike to reach the hotel.

Nice location and great onsen experience No full board option available

Staff is so kind and helpful. Excellent breakfast, varied and plentiful. They seem to cater to more European and American visitors, though there are definitely Japanese options. Views of the lake are amazing, and there’s an inexpensive bus to take to sites around the lake to see Mt. Fuji and museums. The private onsen is very relaxing. Shuttle was very convenient to take to station; runs every half hour from 9am-11. There’s no direct view of Fujisan, so I walked about a mile around the lake at dawn to take photos (not a problem). The hotel is up the side of a hill—great for views, a little difficult to haul luggage from the station (there’s a shuttle but I needed a meal before check in and it’s only about a kilometer away so I decided to walk). To catch the bus or visit any restaurants you must walk down the hill.

View over the lake was excellent and relaxing. The rooms were comfortable, relatively spacious and quiet. A superb restful interlude from Tokyo, Osaka and then on to Kyoto.

The view is amazing, even though you can't see mount fuji. There is tea time and cocktail time, with great snacks, food, and various delicacies - free of charge that also are very nice. Room size in very nice and spacious. There is a private onsen with great view, for an extra charge (and an extra invisible tax that is never mentioned until checkout) There is no 'do not disturb' sign to put on the door- you must inform the front desk in advance if you want a room clean or not. If you decide to keep sleeping you can't, they will wake you up. Breakfast times are super early, not much in it, and when it's over they wipe all the food out in seconds. The room windows had alot of spider webs inside and outside, also in the window slides. Coin washing machine was very bad, had to do our loundry twice because it had no smell, also the dryer - we just gave up after a few rounds (around 2-3 hours) and hung it up in our room.

Staying at Rakuyu was the most memorable parts of our Japan trip to the point that my group of friends almost felt no need to leave the hotel for our 2 days in Mt. Fuji because it provided everything we needed. From the moment we arrived, everything felt thoughtfully designed to help guests relax and fully take in the beauty of the area. Our room was absolutely incredible—a spacious Japanese-Western style room with its own private onsen bathtub which two of my friends took full advantage of and did their own private onsen. The view of Lake Kawaguchi from the main room was unforgettable. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, and the double-mattressed futon setup made for some of the best sleep we had during our travels. One of the highlights of our stay was the food. The all-you-can-eat breakfast offered an impressive variety, with both Japanese and Western options, all fresh and delicious. Beyond that, the added touches like tea time and happy hour buffets were such a treat—there was always something new to try, and everything was beautifully presented. The onsen facilities themselves were also fantastic—clean, well-designed, and stocked with thoughtful amenities. The lake views from the baths were stunning, especially in the evening when the when the town lights dotted the edge of the lake and the atmosphere became even more serene. Service at Rakuyu was outstanding. The staff were warm, attentive, and went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable throughout our stay. The location is another big plus. It’s conveniently close to the Mt. Fuji Ropeway, making it easy to explore. We also loved the short but moderately steep hike to/from the top of the ropeway, which rewarded us with beautiful views of Mount Fuji and the surrounding area. Rakuyu offers that perfect blend of comfort, scenery, and hospitality. The perfect weekend retreat away from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. Highly recommend.
