Our room was INCREDIBLE! The Longma Suite was HUGE and simply historic. If you like historical vibes, this was a great stay. It truly felt like staying in a museum. It was also centrally located--just a 5-10 minute walk to cute shops, cafes, and the local clan jettties. We enjoyed delicious Bueno! ice cream and amazing cheesecake from the place across the street. Unfortunately, we were not prepared with enough cash because the hotel takes 100 in cash as a safety deposit, so we could not buy any of the food/treats around the jetty or the jetty food court which was cash only. The hotel is attached to a cute restaurant for breakfast and the shashua was amazing. Overall, great stay, but maybe best for just one or two nights. Unfortunately, the soundproofing is extraordinarily poor. I understand that the hotel is historic, but I am not sure that we would have enjoyed staying in a different room other than the Longma suite due to shockingly poor soundproofing. To make up for this, it would have been really nice to have some reading material about the building. It was visually stunning and well maintained in a central location, but we were not given any information about the hotel, owner, history, refurbishment, etc. There is a cool collection of framed documents at the back of the hotel wall (on the floor with the rooms), but I was hoping for a more informational experience given the name of the hotel. As for the room--it could benefit from having robes and an additional mirror in the room outside of the bathroom. One other very small note--the aircon was leaking. It was leaking over the bathtub, so for practicality, this was fine, but when taking a bath, it was not enjoyable to have cold aircon water drip down on you every few minutes...

The beautiful historical interior looks gorgeous and authentic, creating a relaxed atmosphere that feels like staying in a quiet resort hotel. Highly recommend! And free breakfast was also excellent!!! Nothing!

Better to provide hair dryer and the AC temp is too warm

Breaksfast is good but limited to certain option only - no buffet. However that understandable to avoid waste.

Breakfast was superb, and the lady staff at the counter was super helpful and cheerful.

The building is nice and offers character of Penang with some antiques displayed in the hallways. The location is wonderful and it's easy to walk everywhere around Georgetown as it's centrally located. The rooms themselves didn't have a lot of character but were more than sufficient and clean. The staff were happy to bring more water and the water was in glass bottles which I like much better than plastic.

There was rattling noise the whole night which disrupted the sleep. It came from the fridge.

The property itself was really nice No staff to help take our luggage ,we were a group of just 5 ladies and 2 of them had back problem plus you know your rooms are duplex then why there’s no concierge or staff to help ,this was very inconvenient and frustrating

Beautiful old hotel in a good location near the UNESCO part of Georgetown, tucked away and quiet. Very close to New World Park food court, which is an exciting and adventurous place to dine. Bus lines to all major destinations are nearby. Beds literally seem antique, so they're built for shorter people and I couldn't stretch my legs on it. I would have a carpenter remove the plank at the foot end of the beds.

    Breakfast was amazing

Overall, the Museum Hotel is a very nice place. We loved our room for the first 3 nights. However, when we extended our stay for a fourth night, we were moved to a very small room with noisy sewage pipes running underneath. Yet we paid the same price as for the much bigger room. This room was not worth 1/2 the price we paid.

we had the Longma suite and it was lovely, and huge. The staff were so friendly and the location was quite central. breakfast as they rarely had the choices we wanted, even though it was "free" breakfast. The pool wasn't much of a pool at all and not private

The windows were not so nice. You could tip the shutters open but never could get much sunlight. I also didn't like that you couldn't pay the deposit with card because then you get ringgit which you can't really use if you check out and go home to another country. I also didn't find the restaurant that great but its à la carte so you can get what you want.

Location was great, away from noise but walkable to center of town. This hotel was like a museum, the attention to detail and its history were fantastic. We felt.like being in a chinese movie at another time. The roof top was wonderful in the evenings, this was a very special place with lots of history but with present comfort. The breakfast was good too Everything was great.

Because we decided to extend our stay in George Town, we booked a 4th night separately (at basically the same nightly rate as our original room). Big mistake. The room we were given was barely big enough to fit the queen bed; the window opened to a small light shaft (not big enough to be an atrium); & the room smelled a bit and was noisy from a horizontal drainage line under the bathroom. Not worth the $$$.

as baba nyonya decendent i love the ambience of the hotel and plus im staying with my mom who is 71 yo and we got a comfortable room im grateful for that and the lady receptionist was really nice to accommodate our every need perhaps for next customer who book the 4 bedded and staircase room should be pre imformed of the existing staircase inside the room.. as per my experience - my moms triends who are female 71 year old 4 of them need to climb the staircases and with the heavy suitcase this could be hazards in the future-- and off course appreciate the lady receptionist who worked on 31 jan and 1st feb who attended our needs and tried her best to switch room for my moms elderly friends tak dpt tukar bilik tp her vibes her smiles and her gestures boleh la sejukkan hati tq adik manis

Our room was quite spacious for 4 persons. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. The hotel location is the main reason why we selected it. Although it is located in the middle of the town it has enough space to park our car. The only thing we did not like the hotel room was that we need to climb the stairs to get to the bedroom. Climbing the stairs back and forth was quite challenging as all of us are senior citizens.

Location and how the hotel is decorated. My fault, I should have booked a room with a window. I felt a bit claustrophobic,.
