Hostel Le Banc

Great location. Friendly and helpful staff.

Liked location. Room for two with private bathroom was spacious and comfortable. Room was clean, but linens were threadbare and stained. Breakfast was only so-so, and took a long time to get served. Difficult to get out early in day.

Not the first time to stay here. Always the stuff is welcoming and helpful. The turkish breakfast is amazing and the location is just less than 5 minutes walking to galata tower. Always the best choice for istanbul.

-Friendly and helpful staff. -They've since converted from a hostel to a standard low-scale hotel, so my dorm room got upgraded to a queen room. -Kitchen & Water purification system. -Good location! -Although there's still a kitchen, it was hard to socialise since it's no longer a hostel. -As with most of Turkey, smoking is ubiquitious, so it was hard to stay in the kitchen. -

It was an amazing experience, the place was very clean and organized and the staff were very friendly and helpful, giving the family vibe inside the hostel

Location Lots of noise during the night. They advertise having breakfast but at 9am place was still closed, not really perfect for those who want to start day early.

The location, facilities and warmth & support of local staff

Location was great. Monday family dinner was a nice touch, although don't expect much food. Curtains around beds were helpful although some of them were holding on for dear life. Free breakfast @ the cafe downstairs was filling enough. Very noisy outside. Cars honking all night long. Had a few germans in my room that don't know the concept of air conditioning, their delicate noses can't handle artificial air and they refused to use it. Instead they insisted on keeping the windows open all night long, didn't get any sleep with all the street noise. And trust me there's a lot of street noise (I used to live in Chelsea, Manhattan and this was way worse). I only stayed 2 days of the 5 I had booked, I couldn't take it. The hostel refused to refund me even 1 cent of my stay, had no interest in a compromise.

Beds were comfortable. There's a whatsapp chat to make it easier to get to know other guests during your stay. Rooms were not cleaned on a routine basis.

Great breakfast, good staff, nice location and building is well-maintained. Overall I had a good experience here. I didn't love the shower being in the dorm rooms, the door + alarm beep was noisy, and the dorms felt a bit cramped with a lot of snorers (but I might just be getting old). Lack of a good common space maybe, the roof was always locked and kitchen + dining table was small.

This is not my first time in Le Banc, and I wholeheartedly love staying in this place! Their outstanding location and soulful service are still hard to beat. The rooms are clean and comfortable, I sleep like a baby here. Thank you guys! It’s been some time since the hostel opened, and some parts, e.g. lockers, door handles, shower facilities etc. are getting worn out. Of course it’s normal when being used by so many people, however I would still suggest paying more attention to ongoing maintenance.

Staff were excellent and extremely friendly. Facilities are clean and comfortable to use. You got to meet a lot of interesting people in the hostel and have a lot of interesting conversations. Hostel had nice activities going on too. Nothing

Loved the group dinner, the friendliness of staff, the location. My neighbors were pretty noisy most nights around 3-5am. I could have just said something to them but didn’t. Not the hostel’s control, but maybe be clear about quiet hours?
