The Shoal La Jolla Beach

Thin walls, you can hear everything from others rooms. We were on the ground floor and were woken up multiple times throughout the night due to the people in the room above us walking, or stomping, who knows. Room was spacious which is a plus.

The staff was very helpful and kind! Great location, just a 5 minute walk from the beach!

The parking lot was too small for all the guests. No free breakfast. Walls are thin. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Thankfully inside is renovated. Outside reminded me of what was probably a cheap hotel back in the day. Overall decent place, but if you want a better clientele, pay a little more and stay somewhere else. Bugs also can get under the doors because too big of a gap!!

Proximity to the beach and comfy beds I think the rooms need rugs or some sort of runner across the hotel rooms

Everything was perfect. They gave us the Suite room, very clean and comfortable. The hotel has parking for $10/day. The location can't be better, 5 minutes walking from Windansea beach, at the heart of la Jolla area. I would definitely come back again. There were two days that we did not have housekeeping.

The staff was very warm and friendly. The walls are thin, mattresses lumpy, and dense uncomfortable pillows. the room had five hangers, no drawers, and command strip hooks for bath towels. The parking was tight and frequently full.

Everything was amazing, like always.We choose this hotel for our yearly family trip))For the third time already!!! Breakfast caffees on the side and 2' minutes walking to the ocean with amazing views! Clean warm pool and jacuzzi ----

Second time here this is our go to place when we are in La Jolla

Location was amazing! Close walk to the ocean (coastal trail). The small business on the corner has delicious iced coffee, smoothies & breakfast sandwiches! Parking is kinda cramped. Especially when a vehicle parks crooked.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Close, easy walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. Two queen beds were comfy; the space was roomier than a typical hotel room and had a functional layout. We did not use the pool but it looked small but usable. The parking lot was also small but we found a spot every time we wanted to. Hotel gives you a “token” for each person so you can borrow beach towels, sand toys, chairs or umbrellas. Would recommend this quaint place for those on a budget!

The room was very cute and very clean. Looks freshly remodeled!!!

Location was excellent. A short walk to Windansea Beach. Handy for us to walk the 1.7 miles to La Jolla Cove and village. Ice machine handy. Fridge in room. Quiet pool and hot tub. Nothing we didn't like. The hotel is perfectly adequate for exploring La Jolla.
