Location We booked before we looked for other reviews besides booking.com. Big mistake. We tried to cancel. They refused. We stayed, and it was obvious that the issues they had with bed bugs, if resolved, were resolved poorly. There were stains (including blood) on the mattress, box spring, and wall. Even after being told, they refused to check, refund, or do anything to remedy the situation. Really disappointed.

Lovely location, check out the Paddington basin and floating park. The rooms were clean and staff friendly. We had a fan in our top floor room, much needed. Lovely shower, albeit the bathroom is small. The breakfast let it down. Our breakfast was included for myself and a child. Only cereal options were cornflakes or cheerios. No yoghurt, or pastries. The cooked option was fried egg, or bacon with mushrooms. I asked for scrambled but told only fried. I am vegetarian so no bacon, please. In the end I had toast. I did not feel this was value for money and thought needs to go into having a bit more selection.

Breakfast was okay.. location is easy to access It was too difficult to stay in upstairs room because of this hot weather. One small fan is not enough for a family room.

Could not ask for a better location. Upon arriving the receptionist greeted us with a smile. Explained the rules. After climbing what seemed a 1000 steps to our room. Room was pleasant just what we wanted. Bathroom was tiny but just right for us. For some reason a towel was in the basin and was soaking wet. Being on the top floor!!

Love the location; beautiful outlook on mature trees; bedroom / beds comfortable ( room just too hot due to the heatwave; fan provided which was much appreciated!) , breakfast a good start. heatwave!...stairs! ...would have liked a bedroom on the lower levels! Breakfast quite early in the day

Breakfast was nice. Cost was reasonable. Rooms could have been cleaner. Bathroom was very small. There is no air conditioning and very little way of ventilating the room.

Great location Small room and tiny bathroom Breakfast was very basic and The breakfast room was very small. We had to wait to have a table for our family Parking in the street was expensive and costed 30£ for the night, this could be easily accommodated for free for the guests.

The breakfast was average The coffee was poor When I arrived, the Staff member was very unwelcoming. I had not been informed that I needed photo ID. I had already paid for the room, but was told I could not stay without my passport - fortunately I remembered I had a scanned copy on my phone

Sussex Gardens is a terrific location with easy access to central London. We visit London regulary and always stay at hotels in Sussex Gardens. Our room number15 was much the same as other hotels in the street, where we have stayed on many ocassions previously albeit the bathroom here was extremely small & cramped (see below) A tower style cold air fan was provided and you were able to open the sash windows for ventilation, great in the hot weather we experienced. The en-suite bathroom was extremely small and cramped; someone of a larger build or with a slight infirmatry would really struggle to use the facilities. All of the fittings for the bathroom were loose and you could not use them for holding toilet roll etc. All required maintainance. The hotel has two buildings on either side of Sussex Gardens, with the reception being in just the one, which is fine. Breakfast was served in the one, so if in the opposite location over the road, it meant walking over the road, fine when dry. Breakfast was only served until 8.30am which is very early. Others in the area serve until 9.30am. The breakfast room was riddiculously small compared to say the Alexadra Hotel's one next door. You had to wait in the small hallway at the bottom of the stairs until a table was ready. It couls seat a total of 26 guests on the 6 four seater & one double seater tables. They expected you to share your table with other guests. Once allocated a table the staff, who in all fairness were very efficient brought in your cooked breakfast within seconds of you being seated and before you had chance to get/eat your cereal etc.
