Location was good. Bed was comfortable. Hairdryer available in the bathroom. - I have stayed at many hostels with no issues and even other Generator locations, but I would not recommend Generator London at all. - The wifi did not work during my entire stay. I was connected with full bars, but it was extremely slow to load and unusable. I also could not get any cell service in the building, so was unable to get connected to the Internet my entire stay. As soon as I stepped outside my O2 service worked immediately. The lack of cell service would have been fine if the Wifi was remotely usable, which it wasn't. - Bathrooms were very far from my room and not well-kept. There was a toilet running loudly my entire stay that was never fixed. Often there was no toilet paper in the stalls. The men's restroom on my floor was out of service most of my stay, so they had to trek upstairs to use the facilities. Showers were small and had nowhere to put my towel where it did not get wet. - I did not expect the hostel to have air conditioning, but a fan circulating air in the room would have made a difference. It was very hot, and I was only on the second floor. I imagine higher up was worse. - There were only USB plugs by the bed, so if you need USB-C or a wall outlet you are out of luck. Also, the plug barely worked during my stay. I was able to use it the first night to charge my phone despite a "slow charger" warning, but on the last night I had my phone plugged in all night and it only went down in power. This was extremely frustrating as I planned to walk around London all day and had to scramble in the morning to find somewhere to charge my phone (my power bank also did not charge overnight so that wasn't an option).

The staff were friendly. The location was perfect, walking distance to Kings Cross and St.Pancras stations. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. If you need to leave your luggage after check-out, you can do it in the locker room for some extra payment It was a little bit noisy because a large group of teenagers from Spain moved in that night, but bearing in mind that it’s a hostel you have to be ready for such small inconveniences. The female room I was staying in was next to the smoking ares so I could feel the smell of smoke in the room. And be ready to pay extra for locks, towels, etc.

The hostel's location was perfect. It was close to the tube and had a lovely shopping street just around the corner. Plus, it was near King's Cross station. The lobby was beautifully decorated for the 2026 World Cup and I absolutely loved the photobooth! A huge number of things fell short during my stay. The room was extremely small, with the beds squeezed tightly together. There were barely any power outlets (only by the window), meaning I couldn't charge my phone or power bank from my bed, there was only a single USB port by the reading light. Furthermore, the windows barely opened, leaving the room with almost no fresh air. The showers were an absolute nightmare. There was nowhere to put your belongings. Everything literally got soaked. On top of that, there were huge school groups staying there and four showers were nowhere near enough for our floor. Lastly, many of the toilet locks were either broken or barely working

Couldn't ask for anything better for the price honestly. beds were so comfy. rooms were really clean. one of the first hostels ive been to that has had a lift which was much appreciated. staff were lovely. food in the bar was also really good. I noticed that the toilets kept clogging.
