Staff and cleanliness was good as always, but there was NO FAN, the room was boiling!

Well it was about 30 degrees and there was no AC, I barely slept some nights because of the extreme heat. Other than that it was fine and everything as it should be. For people wanting to come in winter, there was a heater tho...

Central London location, budget friendly Felt like a prison. I have stayed in hundreds of hostels and this was one of the worst. Booking loud music in the bar, pushing food and drinks deals. Tiny room, roasting hot. Plastic mattress cover. Noisey roller lockers that wake everyone. Bedside light also disturbed roommates. Noisy customers outside not quietened by security. Impersonal and soulless vibe. Somewhere to lay your head that’s about it.

The rooms are extremely hot, it feels like you’re in a sauna! I couldn’t sleep because of this, it was a nightmare

Centrally located, tons of shops and very near major transit stations. Excellent cost factor They do not know how to cool the buildings so during hot weather it feels like an oven long after the temperature drop outside at night. Fans in windows and interior doors propped open for a few hours would make an enormous difference.

Friendly staff, cool common space, plenty of water by the entrance which was good during these hot days. Showers and bathroom was cleaner than expected. Great location. Not for me. Extremely hot rooms without air-conditioning, and the sink in the room looked so old didn't dare to use. Noisy ventilation on and off. Bad weird smells and expensive towels for 5 pounds if needing to shower. Also the bathroom on outer floor were out of order so needed to go up one floor.

Staff was nice Dirty bedding with blood stains. Our room didn't have plugs and it was in the basement, we had no windows and ni ventilation and it was full of pipes, it was terrible. You could hear the pee run down the pipes.

Location The fact that there are three faucets next to the bed, no power outlets in the bed, no towels, no shampoo and not friendly staff

Location is super SERIOUSLY FIX THE AIR VENTILATION! There is NONE. Sleeping in a room with 13 people with just one small window is not okay. It was so smelly and damp. I woke up multiple times feeling like I was suffocating. Had to get out multiple times for fresh air. The guy next to me woke up around 4 because he just couldn't stand the room anymore.

Close to tube stops, in central London. Good price for what you get You have to pay extra for towels, and the bathrooms were quite dirty. There is nowhere to put your clothes as you shower so you are forced to leave your clothes unattended by the sink or toilets and/or walk around in just a towel.

Nothing This property does little to make a stay pleasant. There's no ventilation anywhere. Shower drains are often clogged, and they charge 5 GBP to rent a towel. Baggage storage is not free, and locks for room lockers are sold for 5 GBP. There's no common lounge (only a paid “restaurant” area) and no place to sit anywhere without buying something. And rooms have noisy, squeaky doors.

Clean and great ambience. The staff are also very respectful and responsive

Nothing Too hot, wifi didn’t work, bathroom was out of order

Location was good. Bed was comfortable. Hairdryer available in the bathroom. - I have stayed at many hostels with no issues and even other Generator locations, but I would not recommend Generator London at all. - The wifi did not work during my entire stay. I was connected with full bars, but it was extremely slow to load and unusable. I also could not get any cell service in the building, so was unable to get connected to the Internet my entire stay. As soon as I stepped outside my O2 service worked immediately. The lack of cell service would have been fine if the Wifi was remotely usable, which it wasn't. - Bathrooms were very far from my room and not well-kept. There was a toilet running loudly my entire stay that was never fixed. Often there was no toilet paper in the stalls. The men's restroom on my floor was out of service most of my stay, so they had to trek upstairs to use the facilities. Showers were small and had nowhere to put my towel where it did not get wet. - I did not expect the hostel to have air conditioning, but a fan circulating air in the room would have made a difference. It was very hot, and I was only on the second floor. I imagine higher up was worse. - There were only USB plugs by the bed, so if you need USB-C or a wall outlet you are out of luck. Also, the plug barely worked during my stay. I was able to use it the first night to charge my phone despite a "slow charger" warning, but on the last night I had my phone plugged in all night and it only went down in power. This was extremely frustrating as I planned to walk around London all day and had to scramble in the morning to find somewhere to charge my phone (my power bank also did not charge overnight so that wasn't an option).
