Location was great, near Hyde Park. Close to the Marble Arch, buses and tube. New Quebec St. that intersects with the hotel has lots of restaurant choices. Rooms were very comfortable but small for something called “superior”. The lobby was being renovated and it was a mess. I’m sure it will be lovely when it is finished but we were told when booking it would be finished the end of May or I would not have booked for early June. It looks more like the end of July ‘26.

The only thing that was nice about this hotel was its location. At the point of booking this hotel there was no mention of the building site it currently is, so please do not be fouled by the photos. A hotel full of construction dust, bad smells, work tools and in one place a builders half eaten lunch that was just left in the corridor. We requested 2 single beds we were given a room with a double bed and a faulty toilet that, even after we were told it was fixed it was not and continued to run waster through all night. I could go on about other problems but to be honest I can't be bothered and would rather forget about the whole stay.

This hotel was under renovation but there was no such information at the time of booking. I later received a text directly from the hotel regarding the renovations and when Iasked for a refund, they refused. We went ahead and stayed. The lifts were not working and I had problems with my knees. We left two days earlier and asked for a refund, still to no avail.

Location to tube was excellent. Room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was spotless and had great towels. The hotel was under construction and the front desk staff were not always available. They had no city maps. The construction was MAJOR and the entire first floor was a mess. The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and teh staff never alerted guests as to whether the building needed to be evacuated or not.

Only the location A terrible experience. First of all, only after we completed the reservation and payment were we informed that, upon arrival, there would be some minor work taking place in the hotel lobby and ground floor. In reality, however, the entire hotel was under renovation. Nevertheless, on the first night of our stay, an unknown person knocked on our door several times at around 1:30 AM, and when I reported it to the reception the following day, they told me they knew nothing about it. On the second night, at least all the rooms on the 5th floor (I believe the whole hotel, but I am not completely sure) were abruptly awakened and forced out of their rooms around 1:45–2:00 AM because the emergency alarm for the entire floor went off. Absolutely no explanation was given, let alone an apology. During the day, using the elevator to go up and down was almost an impossible mission because it was nearly always occupied by construction workers loading and unloading building materials. Imagine having to climb up and down five floors on foot. Definitely a very bad experience and not a hotel I would recommend.

Fantastic location, excellent staff, excellent breakfast and historic charm

Nothing - we ended up not staying there as it was a building site. We had to walk through dust and site works to get to our 4th floor room. It was a disgrace that anyone should be expected to stay at this hotel while building works weee going on. Building site - not fit for purpose
