I stayed one night at Astoria Hotel on March 25, 2026, in Room No. 33. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. Below are the main issues that I believe the management should urgently address: A hotel should have a proper reception. This place had no reception desk at all. Instead, I was directed to another hotel about 20 meters away, and their staff handled everything. This arrangement is confusing and unprofessional. The toilet was shared and in a very poor condition. It was clearly not cleaned for some time, and there was no soap provided, which is unacceptable. A hotel should provide standard power sockets or at least accommodate common plug types (such as European plugs). This is a basic necessity for international travelers. The room was extremely small. The single bed occupied almost three-quarters of the space, making it feel more like a capsule than a hotel room. Considering all of the above, I would not choose this hotel again.

Good location. Room is small, but I knew that in advance.

Warned about the builders' noise, but nevertheless disturbed.

Friendly staff, clean room with hot shower, tea and kettle provided.. I have stayed here before and would stay here again in the future.

Reception Tooooooo small Rome’s

The room itself was clean. Shower could be a bit cleaner. Walking up to room the stairs was dark and dirty. Smelt full of cigarette smoke or something similar. There was no restaurant in hotel. It was more like hostel than hotel. There was duck tape holding door together at bottom. Just the pictures gave a different impression of accommodation. When we wanted to order taxi there was no information available at security or even recommendation to download app.

Tiny rooms and bathroom. Like very very small.

Very small room, and no air conditioning.

Daily clean / new sheets on the bed after we spilled drinks. Location is super Breakfast locations nearby. A refrigerator would be very welcome. There is no air conditioning.

The location is excellent, a few minutes from Paddington Station. It's a very basic accommodation, which is good enough for one, maybe two nights. Our room was small, two single beds very close to each other, no bedside table, no power sockets nearby the beds. The shower was ok (hot water and pressure), small space. Everything is worn out, but the bedding and towels were nice and clean.

Easy access, size of the bedroom The corridors reeked of cigarettes, luckily that didn’t apply to the room

Room was very clean. Comfy twin beds and each day was cleaned. Location is excellent for tube connections and busses. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Staff friendly. Shower a bit small.

Everything N/A

Good location, very near to Paddington station and good guys who even helped with late checkin and carry luggage till the room. No breakfast but there are grocery stores, cafes walking distance. Place feels safe even at late night. No fan or AC. It was hot, but couldn’t open the window as room was facing main road Sussex Garden. It has traffic all night and can’t sleep. Parking can be bit challenging as there are very less spots, tight parking with big car. Better to reserve in nearby hotel with JustPark. The beds are separated, although the staff helped to join them together, but still keep separating.

Very good

The double room is more suitable to a solo traveler I think. Mini sized and very basic. But considering the price, it does a really good job!

Great location, close to Paddington station and Hyde Park. The staff was nice. The room was extremely small, no closet, no fridge anywhere, no space to move. The water in the bath had only one temperature: burning. I told it at the reception but it did not got fixed during my stay.

The room was too small, it almost looked like a closet. It was musky, dusty, and there were molds in the room and the bathroom. Unfortunately, I will not be going back here, and I don’t recommend this at all.
