Bowden Court - Hostel

Upscale neighbourhood, public transport and supermarkets nearby, quiet, friendly staff, free basic breakfast and dinner , 24h reception, minifridge, clean facilities, outdoor smoking area, vending machines, lift, good value for money. Honestly so much better than expected. It's a student dorm, not a traditional hotel or hostel so manage your expectations. Rooms get cleaned once a week, no towels or toiletries, no aircon, breakfast is basic. The is is not even a negative for me because it's normal for this kind of stay but just a warning for people not used to it. For a dorm it's fantastic.

The toilets were gross. It's not totally the properties' fault because it seemed like the residents would just throw toilet paper everywhere and didn't flush, but it was not my favorite. Otherwise, a solid stay.

For what this place is, its an excellent choice, and I was amazed by how helpful, nice and professional the staff was. I love the features too, some more outlets (especially closer to the bed would be appreciated) - The location as well is superb, though thats somewhat unrelated. More outlets would be needed to the rooms (at least the one I experienced)

The room was just like the pictures and the bathrooms were really clean

The room did not look like the photos used on the booking site. The bed was ok but the matress is extremely bouncy and pretty narrow so I felt like I would fall off it. The room had no trash can or curtains which I feel like are basic things to have.

The water in the showers wasn't hot enough

Good Location You can not put people that are booking via booking in rooms with students whom don’t shower and not clean and are very very dirty

Bathroom wasn't that clean

The cleanliness is poor, the carpet smells so bad and the toilet is always dusty and dirty, the shower doesn't have enough pressure so it was difficult to manage.

There is bad bug in the room

Decent location It seemed like I was living in a jail cell. The rooms are terrible. Not comfortable at all. I am fairly sure it was a converted prison.

The location was great. The b reakfast was okay, boiled egg, toast, and cold porridge. Being nearly consumed by bed bugs, the two nights I was there. It was horrific and will take me weeks to recover.

Front desk staff very unfriendly, actually just rude like no place we have ever stayed, and this is not a hotel but actually appears to be temporary housing for new comers. Also bathrooms were very dirty despite seeing a cleaner present garbages overflowing 24/7 and bathrooms not cleaned during our entire stay …. Just gross Dirtier than anywhere we have ever stayed and rude front desk staff

The breakfast was OK. The full English on Saturday was nice. Some shower facilities were not up to standard, so I had to ask residents for the showers that were parked well..One resident complained to me about favouritism in the serving of food in the canteen.
