This was my third time in London and I wanted to venture outside the City of London. The hotel is a short 5 minutes walk fromEarl’s Court subway with a direct line to St Pancras and 20 minutes ride to the City. The staff were amazing and attentive. The breakfast provided a wide variety of food, was plentiful and could be enjoyed outdoors. The neighborhood is quite, close to a Holland Park and Kensington High Street. A lot of food options nearby. Great AC (which was a concern) and while being on the side of the street, no noise during the night. A giant living room when you walk in with lots of books. I would recommend this hotel! My single bed had a slight tilt - i still had a great night of sleep. The single room is small - I had no problem with 2 nights and only a backpack but it could be tight with a large suitcase.

Great space - lots of room.

Redecorated hotel in chic modern comfortable inviting style with attractive bar, dining and small outdoor area and front lounge. Relatively easy walking distance to Earls Court tube station

Uncomfortable due to high heat. Air conditioner did not keep up with settings. Fans were used but did not work well. Staff was attentive and tried to accommodate our needs. Air conditioning could not keep up with record heat wave.

Our room had a huge floor-to-ceiling window, but a mature sycamore tree kindly lent privacy. The upper (mezzanine?) level was a nice separate place when needed. The staff brought us extra water every day--it was HOT outside! The breakfast was very good, too. Just a little security concern in that my husband, who arrived separately, was given our room number without checking his ID.

Very nice and spacious room with a beautiful perspective from the window. My room was next to the elevator and also on top floor, so there was some noise, maybe I will start bringing ear plugs with me.

Great location near tube, convenience stores and restaurants. Staff were very friendly. Mezzanine suite was an excellent choice for a little extra room.

We had opted for a Superior Double which was a good size room, especially for London. The en-suite shower room was a bit small, but the bedroom was a good size and at the back of the hotel overlooking the gardens of the hotel and surrounding buildings meant it was nice and quiet at night - this was a real bonus given that the hotel sits of a fairly busy 4 lane road. The location is fantastic. 10 min walk from Earls Court underground, 15 min walk from Gloucester Road underground, 15-20 min walk from Kensington High Street or the Science and Natural History Museums on Gloucester Road. Loads of places to eat and drink on at all 3 locations. In the room we had there was an AC unit build in, but it had clearly seen better days and was about as effective as having an asthmatic mouse blow cold air on you and after a few hours of running the control panel would just blink an error code. The hotel had provided a small plug-in AC unit which was very effective, however it only had 2 settings: fast and loud, or very fast and very loud. On the plus side it did chill the room down rapidly. The rest of the room was nice enough, but overall, a bit tired. The chairs in the room were a bit uncomfortable due to aging padding, and the woodwork (lots of shelves and cupboards) was a bit worn. There was a mini-bar fridge in the room which wasn’t very cold, but was well stocked and the price list looked not too bad. The bed was clearly 2 singles pushed together to make a double. This left a noticeable ridge in the middle of the bed. To my taste the mattresses were too hard, but my partner didn’t think they were too bad. There was a lift to get to the upper floors, however even with the lift I wouldn’t say our room was wheelchair accessible, or accessible by those with restricted mobility. The path from the lift involved going through a door into the landing of a staircase which was narrow enough you had to almost step into the stairs to let the door close to then walk to the room. If coming out of the room you could walk down the stairs, but I wouldn’t have wanted to try getting to the lift from our room in a wheelchair or relying on a stick / crutch. I appreciate that there are limits with what they can do with an older building in the city centre. Another real nuisance was the window in the room. It was a large single pane sash window which was clearly quite old and in need of some attention. There was a gap of about 4mm between the window and the frame. This meant when there was a gust of wind the window sash rattled in the frame, waking both of us up frequently at night.

Historic building with modern amenities. Great location and close to the subway. (Underground) Breakfast was excellent. The loft bed had a very narrow steep staircase. The shower was so small you had to be under 6 feet tall.

Very well situated. Very close to Kensington High St, Earls Crt and South Kensington (amongst others) tube stations. Museums a short walk away as well as good shopping along Kensington High Street. Staff were very helpful and polite and accommodating. Hotel was very clean.

Our room smelled of cigarette smoke and our upgraded “garden” was dirty and smelled of smoke as well. However, the staff was fabulous.

Fair value for money, good location with about 7-10 minute walks to public transportation Room much smaller than expected or shown in photo, especially the shower. Air conditioner was a small and noisy portable one they didn’t really serve its purpose on the warm days. Also the safe box didn’t work, but staff gave me a key to lock it instead.

Attractively refurbished property with clean modern inviting style. Attractive and comfortable use of space.

Loved how quiet it was! Also, pretty close distance to the tube (which wasn't running due to the strike), and bus station, which we used daily. The shower didn't drain well. We were there four nights and even after informing reception, it wasn't fixed. There were no curtains, so the light from the city did keep the room quite bright during the night.

A good place to stay in London. A good location with access to public transport plus local restaurants & pubs. The hotel is comfortable & staff always welcoming & friendly.

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

The staff at the reception behaved like we stayed there for free, they don’t speak English or they don’t know how to say “good morning” “welcome” or “goodbye”. Not sure which one is worse.

The room was nicely air conditioned when the temperature was 33 degrees. I enjoyed egg Benedict for my breakfast. The staff was nice.

My daughter and I stayed here for four nights. The staff were very kind and helpful, the room was spacious, comfortable and very quiet. Great location - a 5 minute walk to Earl’s Court.
