We love this hotel. This is the second time we have stayed here and we will probably always come back to this hotel whenever we come to Madrid. The breakfast spread is one of the best buffets I have ever seen at a hotel, with so many different options all of which were quite delicious. The room we stayed in was not huge but perfectly adequate for our needs. We had a room with windows over the street with a sunrise view of a dome with a spire. The bed was comfortable and the staff were all friendly and helpful. But the best thing of all is the location. It is a 10 min walk to almost anywhere in old town. 10 min to Cava Baja. 7 min walk to the Palace. 5 min walk to either Sol Metro station or Opera metro station. 5 min walk to Mercado de San Miguel and Plaza Mayor. And practically next door to San Gines. It was the perfect hub for our wanderings. And you can always find your way back because the entrance is surrounded by a huge wall of flowers and greenery that borders the doors as you come in. We will definitely stay here again. It already feels like home.

We had a wonderful 4-night stay at Francisco I. The hotel is very clean, beautifully maintained, and comfortable. You can really tell that they pay attention to the details and take good care of the property. The breakfast was one of the highlights, amazing selection, fresh food, and a great way to start the day. The staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful, and they really went above and beyond whenever we needed anything. A special mention to the kitchen and breakfast staff, who were incredibly attentive and made every morning even more enjoyable. The location is absolutely perfect for visiting Madrid. So many of the city's best restaurants, cafés, shops, shopping areas, and tourist attractions are within walking distance. There is also a pharmacy and money exchange nearby, as well as pretty much everything you might need during your stay. We rarely needed transportation because we could simply walk out of the hotel and start exploring. Another big plus is the price. Considering the hotel's prime location, the quality and cleanliness of the rooms, the excellent breakfast, and the level of service we received, we found the price very reasonable. It offers really good value for money, especially for such a central location in Madrid. The combination of the location, cleanliness, excellent breakfast, great value, and genuinely friendly staff made our Madrid stay very memorable. We would definitely stay at Francisco I again on our next visit. Honestly, nothing significant. Everything during our stay was excellent, and we didn't encounter any issues worth mentioning.

The location was perfect. The rooms were small & they didn’t replace the coffee pods.

Beautiful clean room. Excellent location Nothing

Our first room didn't have a window and was kind of like a dungeon. I asked if there was something else available. They kindly showed me two other rooms and we changed rooms right away. The breakfast was very good. The location was very good. The bathrooms all had frosted glass doors and provided no privacy. It was not comfortable to shower or use the toilet with others in the room. We stayed in a family room (mixed ages and genders) and it was spacious, but the bathroom situation was uncomfortable.
